I am looking for a new monitor.
Right now I have a viewsonic monitor 27" with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 -(if I go higher than that I get an "out of range" black screen)

I was thinking of going to a larger screen such as 32" and hopefully with a better native resolution (around 2560 x 1600)
.
Question
Is a curved monitor better.
I play flight sims and train sims. would I get a better picture with a larger screen or would it suffer due to it's size?

27" I would say is the min I would consider these days. I would at least get a 4k monitor now - the tech is there. Pay attention to refresh rates and response times.

Currently I game on three 24" screens giving me a resolution of 6052 x 1200 (bezel adjusted). If I were to upgrade, I would get an ultra widescreen.

What refresh rate and response time would be the min or target to look for ?

At least 120hz, that supports gsync or freesync, and below a 5ms response time.

In my experience, above 26” is as large as I like at 1080P. The 27” I had looked like it was a little too much at that resolution.
4k is still hard to push with good performance, but I wanted to go larger. I found my Benq and friggin LOVE it. 2560x1440, 60Hz. 60 is fine for me. They say once you go 120+, and 100 fps that you don’t want togo back, but if you aren’t used to it, you barely see a difference. So I’m happy at 60, why mess with it? I’m not doing VR. As it is, everything looks amazing even on a 32” monitor. I’ve no doubt 34” would also look great. Going 4k wouldn’t offer much benefit graphically but would be far harder for the system to run, reducing overall performance, so I feel I’ve found my sweet spot. I could get a new graphics card for 4k, but that’s a lot of money on top of buying a monitor when it looks better than anything I’ve seen as it is.
