Yes, 26th to the 30th. Preloading available on the 24th.

I want to hear you guys' opinion on the game. I love Wildlands, but this seems like a little bit the wrong direction from what I've seen in the videos. I'm thinking it might play better in person though, sometimes game demos focus on things I don't ever use.

Mostly, it plays much like Wildlands did. There are gear drops and levels, but it's nowhere near as bad as the Division was. A head shot is a one shot kill and so long as you're within a few levels of your opponent a couple of body shots will down most opponents as well.

If you're playing solo there's no ai teammates, but Ubi has said they'll add them in the game.

We haven't gotten to see much of the map, but it was nice with varied biomes.

Vehicle controls aren't very good, just like Wildlands was.

I played the alpha release a few weeks ago with a friend and from a gameplay perspective, I found Breakpoint to be essentially the same as Wildlands. It's not "dumbed down" in any way I noticed.

The controls took a little to get used to. I had a lot of fun with it after an hour in, playing some coop. There are elements that I am not sure I will like, but that isn't new. I don't want to do the 'crafting' nonsense like in FarCry, but it now a part of it.
I think it will be a good game. Game visuals were beyond excellent, and it ran fantastic on my 2013 I5 with the Nvidia 1060 video card.

Wait, so you have to constantly get upgraded versions of the same guns over and over like the Division? I hope I'm misunderstanding that. In Wildlands, I just find the guns I want and then concentrate on what I'm doing.

Raw Kryptonite, yes, you have to keep collecting the same guns just like the Division. The gear level doesn't matter as much as in the Division and headshots will kill humans in 1 hit regardless of their level, so it's not as bullet spongy. But, yes, it is a hassle. I don't like when the weapons that I prefer to use don't drop. I don't remember if you can just pick up what an enemy you just killed was using like in Wildlands. Just about everyone you kill seems to drop a piece of gear and the settlements sell them too. Still, it's a hassle.
And no, I don't like crafting either. It also didn't seem very necessary. You can make explosives, but also just find ready made ones everywhere or buy them from the friendly NPCs.

You can keep the weapon you like and upgrade their tier like in wildlands.basically guns are all the same, but "rare" or whatever they are called give you a free buff like +5% reload -10 % maneuvering,you can still get those with attachments. also the gun levels with you so you don't have to worry about getting every new one, basically you get the new ones to dismantle for parts to upgrade, that is what i was doing, i was running only one gun and i keep the same sniper rifle i found early on and a sub-machine gun.

At least in the beta, if you don't assign a gun to the second slot you can run with only one gun on you. if you do the second weapon is stuck on you forever. So its possible to play classes role if more people figure this out....wich i doubt....

i honestly don't understand why people are complaining about not being able to pick downed enemy weapons, no one did that in wild lands because they were all #%&*$#, and i don't remember correctly but i think you couldn't upgrade them as well because they were not "yours".

In Wildlands enemy weapons generally were crap and you couldn't upgrade them. It was mostly only a handy feature at the start of the game when you didn't have any. I think you lost it either on death or when you swapped that weapon, you couldn't go back to the scavenged one. Overall not a big issue over the whole game, but that crap they started you with was awful.

As for some of the crafting and upgrading in Breakpoint, it seems every weekend they do an Alpha or beta I get invited to I already had plans and haven't had time to dive in too much. If you can keep upgrading whichever gun you use frequently, some of my issues with the loot is then moot.

The game will be like origins, with tied region to force you into the game narrative for sure......the only way your gun level will matter is if you encounter an enemy above your level, but i was killing wolves 15 levels above me, the trick is not getting hit lol. But if you encounter a sentinel drone, regardless of level you are fu.dge

Thread necromancy time.

They have put out a large update this week with what they call "Immersive Mode".
Still no friendly AI if you're playing solo, but it adds options to turn off gear levels and make it more like wildlands.
Options to limit yourself to only 1 primary weapon.
The option to lose remaining ammo on reload.
And tons of other difficulty options to tailor it more towards how you want to play.

Yeah, I played it last night with the new update. I like the new options added.


For Ubisoft though, I think it's a case of the horses already leaving the barn. I don't think these changes will translate to a significant number of new sales.

I am pleased to see these changes, but I agree with PanzerMeyer, They kind of blew this one when it comes to sales of this version, but it may convince players to purchase the next version in a couple of years.

How about an option for no stupid drone crap and other elements that made this the first GR game I haven't bought.
Wildlands was a departure, but it was a GOOD one. This one isn't redeemable from what I've seen. It also frustrates me to no end that in Wildlands and now here they've had Ironside voice a Splinter Cell tie in mission but we still have nothing about an actual Splinter Cell game.
