Are you enjoying the game bisher? Looks good. I think Raw Kryptonite gifted me this. I had a hard time with the 2D plane travel in a space game though. Maybe I need to give it a try again.

It's easy to play, take off and landings are cut scenes, I use my game pad

I'm enjoying it myself so far and am doing some local delivery missions and playing some pool to upgrade the piece of junk that we begin with.

The cockpit view is a bit of a throw back. I don't mind the cockpit view, lots of stuff going on the keep you busy. Your view maybe limited but when in combat I use the auto-tracking mode so my nose always points to the target.

It's good arcade fun.

That would be the original game, which is good, but 3rd person and like you said, on a locked plane IIRC. The new one is a prequal, has a cockpit view and supposed to be pretty good as well.

I've got two weapon hardpoints loaded up with the tracer. Sounds great, looks good too

Ah okay. A sequel prequel. I like the game's aesthetic.
