The link doesn't work for me.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." -- Ephesians 6: 12-13 KJV

This has got me confused. I can't find this new sim,not on their web-site or their YT channel. Can you elaborate Agathosdaimon?

A guy walks into a bar and hears two women speaking in a British accent. He asks, "Are you ladies from England?" One says to him "No, it's Wales, you idiot!" So, then the guy says, "Okay, sorry. So, are you two whales from England?"

The B-17 sim,is that what he's referring to? I knew about that one. Guess I got confused when I saw 'DCS' and 'Apache'.

*edit* This one maybe? This looks new.

Seems there is some movement on the remake. The Canadian Lanc sim has been folded into the Microprose B17 Mighty Eighth remake, and it will also include a B24.

VR sounds interesting too.

The last post in this thread was about no less than 1 year ago and judging from the follow-up here or even on the Discord MPS channel not much is really happening except everyone is patiently waiting for those new titles to arrive.
Not much else!
The point I am trying to make is that classic MPS games and simulations are some of the greatest achievements in pc game history and despite that nowadays they appear to be not gathering any traction or attention among younger gamers or even those of us older folks who played them and enjoyed them in the past 20-30 years. What I am saying here is that based on the observation of more than a year one can clearly see that there is a lot of buzz about "oh I remember it how great they were / sweet nostalgia / I wish I could have that great gaming experience again" there is not much effort to really play or dive deeper into those games again.

Putting technical difficulties aside, which are not really too much of the obstacle anymore if you get those games from Steam or GOG, I do not see really any more valid excuses why not to try them more enthusiastically and hands-on than just pretty much idle talk (or not even that). Comments?

For me,I can't see past the 90's graphics/sound etc. I have tried. I did put a little time into the original M1 Tank Platoon a few years ago (probably one of my most played games at that time) but the graphics are just too simple.

I did see that the original B-17 just got a Steam release but it didn't raise any interest in me I'm afraid. B-17 was my second ever PC purchase (Falcon 3 being the first).

As I see it, and this is for me personally, back in the 90's I loved the playability of those old sims. Now as to the modern age, the sims look fantastic but I don't find them very playable.

Agreed a lot of kids these days pit graphics before game play then they wonder why they are unhappy about the game not being fun. A majority of games these days suffer from sugar coated eye candy but inside they are empty. I guess its no surprise that some kids are now turning to old emulated games or new indie games sporting classic pixel graphics.

What upsets me are all of these sims that lack a dynamic campaign system and those developers that explain away the lack of one in their game being due to time and complexity. In most cases its just an attempt to skirt them. This has made me exclude a lot of sims that do not have them. I prefer career modes and a conflict going on around me.
