I'm not thrilled about Troy not only because of its highly fictionalized history but also because the technology and units involved will not be much different at all from what we got in the "Wrath of Sparta" DLC for Rome 2.

Meh, maybe I'll get it. For me, TW is becoming more about mechanics than subject matter. I can look past unappealing historical eras if the gameplay is great.
Warhammer 3 is what I am really looking forward to.

I have zero interest in Warhammer but the gameplay mechanics for "Three Kingdoms" is outstanding and while Ancient China is not my #1 favorite setting and era, at least I've always had a somewhat casual interest in it and thus it helped a lot with my appreciation for the game.
My problem with "Troy" is that it really won't be that different at all from what we've already been given with Rome 2 unless CA plans to add some heavy fictionalized "arcade" type mode.
I'm still hoping and praying that one day we'll get a Napoleon 2 or an Empire 2.

I'm surprised you aren't interested in at least trying Warhammer. It's really good, and as I know you love TW games, I think you could actually end up liking it, though you've been clear through the years on your position. I'll gift you a copy if it goes on sale if you'll try it and tell me what you think Personally I want an American Civil War TW game. I know it would probably flop, so won't be made. But gunpowder is TW's sweet spot for me and I think it would be marvelous. I've though a lot about it, and one of the obvious challenges is how would two factions fly? One solution is to have each army or corps as it's own faction, with various bonuses. One army gets logistical bonuses, another artillery, another rifle accuracy and so on. That could allow for more factions, even if they are ultimately on just two sides of the war. Anyway, I know it won't happen, but I have ideas about it just the same.

Haha PM, you must REALLY not want to play Warhammer if you didn't reply to such an offer. I picture you holding a cross out in front beseeching Warhammer to stay back OK, well, it still stands. So if you change your mind let me know. If you end up liking it I'll play a co-op campaign with you, should you find such a scenario appealing. I wouldn't even suggest it if I didn't think it worthwhile. As we've talked about, I was once of the same opinion as you, Warhammer held no interest due to it's non-historicalocity, but eventually I relented, wondered why I wasn't interested, and tried it. And as you may have read, I now think it's the best TW title of them all. I want to pay it forward, see if I can change your mind, and at worst you will simply cement your opinion that it's not for you, all for free PS If you like it, all the DLC is on you

Yes a demo would be ideal. And two hours to try and still refund just isn't enough time I don't think to really know if you'd like it. PM your steam ID PM It goes on sale from time to time and if it does I'll give you a full demo to check out There's no real co-op campaign in WH 2 I don't think. But two players can work together. The Vortex campaign would be cool, playing two factions of the same race and helping the leader to complete the rituals. Plus, there's the Mortal Empires campaign that stitches together all factions from both Warhammer games, but that requires you to own both games and I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

Nicely done Cheyenne So I can just buy a key and copy/paste it in a message and that guy can use the key on Steam? Like say you can do with War in the East? I bought WH 1 on Fanatical when I wanted to play Mortal Empires, so they come through once again as the only place running a sale on this game.

Repeated attempts to purchase have been rejected by Fanatical, maybe some credit card issue? I submitted a support ticket so awaiting reply. I purchased WH 1 no problem, so not sure what the hang up is this time. Stand by.

The cause was the bank was saying Do Not Honor. So I contacted the bank and spent 40 minutes going up the chain all the way to fraud prevention who said they authorized it, but it still failed, probably because of all the failed attempts. Sorta stuck at the mo.
