A few days ago I installed EECH (GOG edition) onto my laptop (Dell Inspiron 7577), and I expected it to handle the game easily (with a GTX 1060), but I still experienced some graphics lags. A distinct example would be lagging of FLIR view (specifically when panning). In the mission selection screen the mouse pointer may lag a lot. Did you experience similar issues? The OS is Windows 10, maybe there are compatibility issues involved?
Yes, I tried and it went rather unexpectedly - the framerate dropped to around 15. Without the setting it floats around 40 in cockpit view, and surprisingly, around 30 when viewing the map (when selecting a mission). 45 FPS is more or less comfortable, but still, I would expect more from my system. ----------- Update: The game was running in Windows 98/Me compatibility mode, which I disabled and tried enabling TnL again. Now it runs smoothly at 60 FPS.
Yes, thank you. I've seen another thread about a similar issue, and I think creating a dedicated thread for discussing game setup on modern systems is a good idea.
Im just returning after a short break from EECH - this thread really helped my performance for the game. Interestingly, for me, I enabled TnL to get better results.
While flying along waypoints in Lebanon map, the FPS suddenly and momentarily drops and then becomes usual 58-60 ish. Is this normal or do I need to tweak further?
Edit drops to around 34-30

slow down does happen right after waypoint passed? is it simple route waypoint, or first/last? such possible if it's troops extraction point for example, or recon was just send, but in other situations - does not. maybe you can make savefile right before it happen, so I can test it? sounds like very specific situation.
So since I got my new laptop, I noticed quite a few performance issues, mainly really low FPS.
I've managed to fix it, this is what I did.
I have an AMD Ryzen 5, that has it's own GPU. I also have a Nvidia GTX 1650ti.
So in the Nvidia control panel, I set EECH to use the Nvidia card, as it was selecting the integrated GPU by default.
But I think the thing that made the difference, was changing the cohokum.exe to run using Windows Vista compatibility. It originally was trying to run using Win 98 settings. I tried Windows XP too, but Vista seems to provide the best performance.
If you go into the nvidia control panel, you can select which gpu a program uses. Check yours is set to use your graphics card. My one was set to use the integrated gpu, not the nvidia card
Sorry for the late reply. Its simple route waypoints. Am guessing it's my old rig that uses NVidia 6 series gfx card. Slow downs probably happen when a new sector is loaded on the ram or gfx memory.
In clean 116 version? Or you use airfields mod ? If yes what version? This mod cause huge fps drop. You cant disable dx9. If you use this mod,try reinstall game without airfields.
Hey guys I have problem. If I run eech with HDMI cable it runs fine, except cable is bad and video flickers. Tried my monitor cable and i get this error see debug file
DOH!! Changed Resolution back to 800x600 in eech.ini and then set my resolution to 1360x768
