Charlie don't surf!

I saw the redux version in theaters and that must have been over 10 years ago. Hopefully, this version will be a bit tighter and have better pacing than redux. edit...nvm, found it here at local IMAX!

Unfortunately the IMAX theaters around me never show anything good. I never thought the whole French hold outs in the hidden rubber tree plantation stuff in Redux fit well into the story. I wonder if that will be taken out for this one.

I have the Redux version on dvd and I have to say that this is one of those rare cases where the original theatrical version is better. The Redux version has that really long and pointless segue to the French plantation which seriously bogs down the movie. I totally can see and understand why Coppola left out that long sequence from the theatrical cut.

I was more or less fine with the French Plantation scene, but the additional Playboy encounter scene left me yawning. so I am interested to see this new cut now that the Playboy scene is going to be removed.

Ah yes, you mean the scene where they meet up inside the helicopter. Yeah, that scene was totally superfluous in my opinion.
