Their was just a discussion about using some textures from DCS and someone also suggested to make an Eurocopter Tiger (I think Javelin was it).

Now it came to my mind, how about using textures from the old Gunship! Microprose made back in 2000? This could really have been a milestone in helicopter-simulation, but sadly it wasn't really finished and thrown as an arcade-sim to the market. Short after this Microprose sadly closed its doors. There should have also a tank-sim called Tank-Platton! been released, but this never happened.

I don't know if we could use some textures from it, cause I don't know how the rights are, but if we could use them it would be a great improvement. Gunship! had really superb graphics for its time.

The flyable helos were the AH-64D in an US and a UK version, the MI-28 and the Eurocopter Tiger. For making an Tiger it could really be useful. The MI-28 was also the old version with the blue cockpit.

Yes, I also have seen yesterday that Gunship! is still sold on Steam.

Would have been nice to use some parts of it, but in this case its not possible.

I found great cockpit for gta, but cant find any simple and easy extractor for rpf.
https://pl.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/eurocopter-tiger-uht-add-on
there are two, but installation and unpacking is not so easy.

There is a decent model of the Eurocopter Tiger with cockpit in the archive for X-Plane on the forum site. You can import the X-Plane obj-8 files into Blender using a plugin that is also available on the X-Plane forum site. The model has a GNU public license, which means it can be used for non-commercial uses. Once you get it into Blender you can save it in another format which Lightwave can import. Does this help?

Well let's see what will they come up with.

If we had another Gunship! as a proper sim with dynamic campaign then DCS would need to get their #%&*$# together. On the other hand they are already busy with their new F16 release...but if I can remember correctly F16 and AH64 were annouced around the same time (well as a project not a confirmed date or anything) so we will see.

Fingers crossed
