As a result of my renewed interest in the Italy campaign I simply imprted just the targetset and tilemaps into EAWPRO, did some more historic research and tested a few changes in a previously described area to see what all the commotion was all about. It came to my attention that this addon is not only suitable for operation Husky (invasion of Sicily) but also can be used for the Battle of the Alps, the Italian invasion of Southern France, and Operation Dragoon, liberation of the South of France by the Allied Forces in Italy. Ofcourse there's way more possibillities, since the countries East of the Mediterranian are also represented in this theatre. Frontlines were accordingly adapted to follow an appropiate timescale, so it now spans all these campaigns from war start to war end.

Here's a few pictures of this trial mission using the stock planes:

A few screenies of Rome and another nice object created for the Italy addon. Just so you know, I've never been to Italy, or Tokyo for that matter, which atracted some remarks that it didn't look like Tokyo at all. Well Italy doesn't look like Italy yet either, it can only approximate it's looks after some 69 Italian ground objects and 29 appropiate planes for it have been created. Such things take a long time with the high standards required for EAWPRO. The same goes for a terrain set, as it wouldn't be right to use something not specifically created for the addon. Although the terrain has long been finished I'll currently stick to showing the default set in EAWPRO, simply because it's easier for me to work that way, while I'm building the complete install on another computer, which is mainly for back up puproses. Hope you forgive me for that, smile

So this is Rome:

and some oldies (not being disrespectfull in meaning you're as old a fart as I am), may remember this fully R/S compliant object , also specifically created for the addon in 2010

Just so you know I'm working hard on making things look right, hope you guys like, smile

Well, that makes your opinion all the more important in my book m8. Maybe you can explain why the Italian houses are so different from anything we have seen in EAW, smile What did I get myself into this time!
