I’m a massive Royal Navy fan so RNAS is obviously my force of choice. I’m having a great time with my recon/bombing and fighter campaigns but I have several thoughts and questions.

1. Are there ships in the game? I’m sure I’ve seen them in a WOTR YT film. RNAS is ideal for sea recon, with several squadrons based by the sea, but I’ve never seen a sea recon mission or a ship for that matter. Sea recon could occasionally include bombing runs, although IIRC it took around a 100 hours of flying to detect one U-Boat.
2. Is Zeebrugge in the game beyond a map marker? I did a QC scouting mission there and back and couldn’t see any buildings.
3. Any chance we might be getting a seaplane in the future?
4. Any chance we might be getting external loadouts like radios or cameras, for visual purposes?
5. Can we get RNAS graphics in the menus? The pilot’s dossier currently has an RFC logo.

I think that the naval war might make a good expansion for WOFF.

Brandenburg seaplanes raiding British towns. RNAS raids on Zeebrugge

Reconnaissance missions looking at shipping in the channel ports or U-boat raiders.

Of course, the RNAS mainly used airships for anti submarine patrol.

There was a Felixtowe flying boat in previous versions of the game.

I have had ideas for a mod in this direction (channel ports with shipping) but my modding skills are still in their infancy so this is some way off yet.

There are ships in WOTR not WOFF currently.

We have not expanded the nautical side of things, maybe in the future.

Flying boats we had a couple of Short Bombers in early phases, but we didn't have the means to add them to a campaign at the time, so they were dropped, and now would need major overhauls - so would probably be easier to mostly remake.

There are some Shorts parked in one of the modded sea bases in WOFF, can't remember which one, that RAF_Louvert did.

Ekaton, the RNAS is my primary WWI focus, as well, both regarding flight sims and modelling.

After getting both WOFF and RoF, I got very little time to spend with either one, the last couple of months. That should change soon, and I will get more training/flying time in.

My preference is WOFF, but the Felixstowe and the missions for it is what keeps RoF on my computer.

Hopefully WOFF will include such, in the not too distant future, and I'll retire RoF when it does smile
