75 is really not that old by today's standards. RIP to a fantastically gifted actor. Besides Blade Runner, I really liked his performance a lot in the first Chris Nolan Batman film and also "Soldier of Orange".

Awww man. Rutger was awesome, and his performance in Blade Runner was timeless. He was great in everything he did, and spiced up whatever show or movie he was performing in. Take True Blood's last seasons--the show was hit and miss, but the characters were some of the most memorable I've ever seen, and Rutger was a great addition. Also, how about this performance in "The Hitcher?"

Fantastic actor, sad news.

If anyone is even just a bit into horrors or sci-fi, i recommend playing Observer. He's voicing the main character in the game, did a great job IMHO.

sad news - Blade Runner may have not been that much of a success at first in the US, but outside it it was a success and that made Hauer's famous worldwide.

I did not know he was Dutch. I always thought he was German or Austrian. I will always remember him for his role in Blade Runner and Blind Fury (a guilty pleasure and a good riff on the Zatoichi character). I have always heard that Soldier of Orange is a classic so I will put that on my list to grab a copy at the library.

75yo to pass away is about average for a male life expectancy in the U.S. I am too lazy to look up any stats on Europe or the Netherlands.

This one hit me hard.

The term "necroposting" was invented by a person with no social memory beyond a year. People with a similar hangup are those o.k. with the internet being transient vapor.
