Yeowza!! I wonder what the specs will be to run it. It looks amazing. Most likely they were watching the successes of Prepar3d and XPlane11 and figured it was worth it to jump back in with a whole new engine

Looking forward to this One for sure!!

Yes, but remember FSW?
We all thought that was going to be the next must have civilian flight sim, that it would take the genre forward... we all know what happened to that.
Wasted my bloody money on that one... not sure I want to do it again...

High over the Front
Looks like you’re going to need a hell of a system to run it.
And, as an old FS flightsim fan, I guess I missed the Sopwith Csmel?

That small mention of Windows 10 is on the XBOX website too so who knows. Hopefully it's only "exclusive" as far as which console has it, and it's not coming out years later on PC like Halo.

I remember waiting for Halo patiently for PC for several years then pretty much at the last minute MS bought the rights, stuck it on Xbox then it took several years to come out on PC.

I watched the trailer and I was blown away! That scenery is almost as good as WOFF/WOTR! Music isn't up to Mr. Milne's, though.

I wonder if it will retain all the flexibility of he original, though - there's still a whole constellation of developers around their last flavor. I have a nice setup. Haven't flown it in forever. It's all I can do to squeeze in a quick flight in WOFF. Tried my WOTR installation once, gotta get my joystick, etc, calibrated. Life is far to busy, just far too busy. I've hardly had time to stop by here.

But I'm with JimBobb, as I've said before - If our devs can do this good with the ancient CFS3 code, can you imagine what they'd do with code that was low-level optimized to modern hardware? You'd be able to count the fleas on the Red Baron's dog!

Best to All!

FS Stuff: Saitek X52 Pro Stick/Throttle & Combat Rudder Pedals, TrackIR 5

Site has been updated - will be on Windows 10.
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/microsoft-flight-simulator

While this is not the moment to answer every question being asked, we do want to take the opportunity to answer a few important ones:

We are making Microsoft Flight Simulator. Emphasis on the word SIMULATOR.
Designed for PC, optimized for multiplatform support (e.g. Xbox).

hmmm... it'll probably be pay-to-play vaporware because... nobody's hard drive would be big enough to hold all that scenery, right? I mean, if they got any more detailed, I would expect to be able to find the R. M. Thorstensen tied up in the Ballard canal east of the Ballard Bridge in Seattle! (yes, that's a real boat--it's actually there most of the year)

I'm curious but... I don't think I'm ready to drop that much money for a new console for just ONE product.
