Steam auto downloaded it today for me. I was quite impressed with my download speed! I think it took about 6-7 minutes for the download and updating to complete.

Just a heads up, Meatshield did update the server with the latest Global Mobilization update. I know Panzer and I have the update downloaded. Just wanting to remind Gin and Prof to update if not done yet.

Update auto-downloaded. Just checked to make sure it loaded with no issues - all good.

Sorry about last night, thought I'd already downloaded the Global Mobilization update already. I'm going to buy a 1 Tb. SSD today. I'll put Steam on that, and that should solve the disk space problem, at least for now ! smile

Success ! Bought the 1.0 Tb. SSD, installed it, formatted it, it's all working. Pulling the bad Hard Drive has solved the shutdown and start-up problems. It wouldn't shut down on Sunday because a windows file got corrupted while shutting down, but I'd made a boot&repair USB thumb drive and I used it to repair the windows file.

As a test, I created a steam folder on the new drive and re-installed Rainbow 6 and it's working fine.

This is where I will put Arma 3.

Now the big question. I can have steam move the "Arma 3" folders to the Steam Folder on the new Drive, but what about the "Workshop" folder ? I can try and move Arma 3 and see if it moves the "workshop" Folder or not. If it does, and Arma works I'm all set. If it doesn't, I can easily move it with cut and paste. What should I do ?

Thanks, Saghen, I'm giving it a try right now. By the way, backing up the Arma 3 files will take an hour and a half, so I'll report back tomorrow on how I made out.

Saghen, I did follow the instructions for the first link you posted. By the time I got halfway through, I was beginning to have a pretty good idea of how the steam file system worked. I realized I'd almost certainly be better off using the steam utility to move Arma 3 from where it was, to the steam folder on the new drive. I'm mighty impressed with steam. It moved everything just fine including the workshop, then it installed the update as well. I ran Arma and everything is exactly as it was before this. I logged into the SimHQ server and went to a mission and started it up and went into the mission no problem.

If you had some time, it probably would be good to meet on the server and run a Vietnam mission just as the final test. Let me know if you have some time this week. smile

Not really. The rest of my week is pretty booked.

If you guys don't mind having 2 ArmA sessions this week we can just play tonight without Gin and then tomorrow you guys can play without me but with Gin instead.

Saghen, see if you can drag Meatshield to show up for either tonight or tomorrow. wink
