I'm only asking this in this forum because the activity in the console forum is very low, so please excuse and forgive me for breaking protocol.

I am thinking about getting a 4K monitor to take advantage of my XBox's capability to play UHD/4K BluRays. Can the XBox One X play these disks and still output the audio through the optical audio port? Or does it only output audio through the HDMI output port while playing 4K disks? The reason I ask this is that the monitor I want to buy does not have a headphone output so I need a way to send audio to my (old school) stereo system via RCA cable. I plan to use an adapter that converts the XBox One X optical audio out to RCA. My main concern is that the X Box might not output audio from the optical port while a UHD 4K Blu Ray is playing due to bandwidth limitations. Does this even make sense? Any help (mercy) is appreciated. smile

The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.
