Help!

Uninstalled through WOFF TOOLBOX.
Reinstalled WOFF twice with WOFF UE disc.
Downloaded latest patch 4.23
No Mods running

Each time the sim tries to load up, I receive a small grey dialog box that says.. "Exception, game terminated prematurely".

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi cptroyce

I seem to rem you had something similar moons ago. When cleaning out remove the remaining WOFF folders in case you have Reshade or other tools in there. Our uninstaller doesn't remove things that are modded usually.

"Downloaded" you mean "installed" 4.23?

Why did you have to reinstall in the first place? What was wrong?

Make sure you install DX9 although you should have that installed already if it worked before, otherwise something else is stopping it from running - think what changed on the PC.

Not sure what you mean by this. As I posted, I used Toolbox for the uninstall.
Should I have manually deleted anything else (folders etc.) that was still WOFF related that may have still been on the PC? I removed all mods via Mod enabler.

>> "Downloaded" you mean "installed" 4.23?<<

Yes the latest patch 4.23

>> Why did you have to reinstall in the first place? What was wrong? <<

I downloaded and installed 4.23 over existing.. running fine.. WOFF ( anti-virus turned off and all Mods removed before running the patch).
Kept getting exception errors afterward, each time I tried to run the sim. That was why I went to a new clean install.

>> think what changed on the PC.<<

Nothing else had changed prior.

That;s about all I know.

Any thing I might do at this point..or do I have to go through another uninstall - reinstall procedure?

Regards,
Royce

Cp,

It is possible that your download of V4.23 was corrupted. I would suggest downloading it again.
Also do a complete delete again using toolbox but before you do the full install again just make sure there are no WOFF directories or files left on your system.

Best Regards

Thanks Robert for the reply. I did two downloads of V4.23 over a new install; and an uninstall through Toolbox as I mentioned above.
However I did not look the see if there were other WOFF files still remaining on the computer after the uninstall.

Perhaps the lingering files or folders are the issue. I guess I'l try another installation..

Thanks again guys for the help.

Cptroyce, read section 17 of the FAQ. After uninstall using toolbox there is another folder you need to manually take out if you did not catch that. Section 17 tells you where thy are. Hope you are flying soon.

I have occasionally gotten the 'exception' error on my first try of WOFF after installing an update, but it always fixed itself with a computer reboot. So at least reboot the computer and have a fresh start before resorting to a reinstall (you probably did that, just mentioning it anyway).

Thanks guy for the replies.

I did another uninstall..delted everything WOFF and tried another install. Well, that worked.
Except when I downloaded the latest patch V4.23 I encountered the same Exeception "Termination Prematurely"error.
So the problem for me seems to be with the latest patch.
Any ideas? Does anyone have the previous patch V4.22 or V4.21 which worked fine for me.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or help.

One thing I always do on a new install is reboot and run the sim once then apply my patches,,Not sure what it does but it has helped with getting a buggered install running

"Should I have manually deleted anything else (folders etc.) that was still WOFF related that may have still been on the PC? I removed all mods via Mod enabler"

Yes - find your WOFF install folders after using toolbox then remove the remaining files and folders
default C:\OBSsoftware\WOFF\ and all inside there too.

Mods, files that WE did not put into the folders we cannot be sure are deleted. BTW Mods themselves do not always cleanly remove, even when JSGME is used - mistakes happen.

So uninstall, remove all other traces as per the FAQ.

So you install WOFF with no patch and run it, and it runs OK?

Then install 4.23 and see (AV turned off during install and first run).

Does it run?

Also if 4.23 fails could be Anti Virus interfering ans it works for others OK. What AV?

Try that first please. Then we can try an older patch. BTW for support you need to contact support I can;'t do it here properly. Too fiddly when files and links are involved.

Send any logs if it crashes please as per the FAQ to support email.

Yes.
All Mods were removed from the WOFF folder..All WOFF files and folders deleted before the install..Anti Virus has been off after each download. It is Panda Dome..but it was off.

So, as I posted above, I finally ran WOFF fine. Then I added V4.23 and received the "Terminated Prematurely " error dialog.
So it is something in the latest patch and my set up for some reason. Should add that I have not had a problem with any previous patch.

OK dealing in email, but for the record... we have no other reports cptroyce so it could be something on your system. Never heard of Panda Dome, so could be related. Some AV's do not disable properly.

As you suggested I took my problem to support and off the thread.

Never meant to indicate something wrong with patch update. I know there is an issue with the update v4.23 and my files, lingering files, something.

I am emailing my logs and other folders requested by support , to see if the experts can find the issue(s).
