It is with great sadness I am reporting that Tom passed away yesterday from cancer.

His wife called me and told me just a few minutes ago.

Tom was a huge friend to many of the long time SimHQ'ers and his sense of humor was always appreciated.

One last time my good friend... flashing beacons.

So sorry to hear this. I always had hoped he was doing OK after he left the site.

My condolences to his wife and family.

I still vividly remember many of our past conversations on SimHQ.

Sad news indeed. RIP.

During my spell has moderator I had the good fortune to spend some time with Tom in chat and those early SimHQ Racing tests. Tom had a big heart and his reaching out to me during a difficult period in my life I will never forget.

My thoughts and condolences go to his family.

Salut! Twenty-Mike-Mike!

What terrible news. He was one of the stalwarts here.

I was worried when that infection laid him low and he dropped out of the forum.

Didn’t know about the cancer.

RIP Tom 20mm.

I'm sorry to read this.

The one discussion I remember having with 20mm was years ago when I lived in Fl. We were comparing our wives' tolerance for bringing a flight sim manual to a restaurant (mine was F-22 TAW, his was Falcon 4.0).

RIP.

“Government has three primary functions. It should provide for military defense of the nation. It should enforce contracts between individuals. It should protect citizens from crimes against themselves or their property. When government-- in pursuit of good intentions tries to rearrange the economy, legislate morality, or help special interests, the cost comes in inefficiency, lack of motivation, and loss of freedom. Devastating news.. Tom was such a good guy. More than half my post count came from following his goofyness.. And it was wonderful.
The "night of the EELs", will never be forgotten (well almost), think everyone on Community Hall had too much to drink that night. And it was way
before Political Correctness was even a word..

And thanks Doug for letting us know. Sucks, but at least we know.

Seriously, if you know someone fighting cancer offer your time to them. It's the most precious gift you can give. Sit with them, talk to them, you don't even need
to say a word. Besides the chemo, it's a mental game that has to be won too. And don't forget the families, loved ones, friends supporting those going thru
treatment. They need support too. Unfortunately, I know that first hand. Special thanks to Bill Grant, OG, and Shan for their time they gave me.

To 20mm, take care buddy.

I remember when I was a moderator here, he and I spoke on the phone often. I recall that Tom didn’t like a lot of drama and genuinely sought out the good in people. I remember once my wife and father in law were in Tucson for a gem and mineral show and they ran into some trouble. Tom’s son was a Pima County sheriffs deputy and he rode to the rescue for people his dad had only spoken to on the phone. That was just who Tom was. He loved his family, especially his wife, (I believe her name is Becky, if I recall correctly) fiercely.

God bless his family. Where Tom is now, there isn’t any pain or suffering. We will miss you, sir. Until we see you again.

It is always sad to see these threads come up but it also brings on memories of the departed, thanks to those who share those memories.

Rest in Peace Tom "20mm" and thoughts and prayers to your family going forward in their lives.

Rip mate, we had a couple of good yaks and his humour reminded me of my old man. A stalwart of SimHQ and his family i'm sure. Very sad news.

The previous year, before I was even a twinkle in the eye of SimHQ’s Staff, I had won a site contest and these items were the Grand Prize. I couldn’t believe it at the time, I had never won anything worthwhile in my entire life. Two weeks later, a box direct from SimHQ’s palatial high-rise headquarters arrived with my name on it. Yippee!! I won, I won, I won, my major award at last! I think it even had the word “Fragile” stamped on the outside (that’s Italian, you know).

Taken from Toms write up, My First Pc Miss the days when SimHQ had so much more content and people like Tom writing them up. Good times and good people.

Dang...i was wondering why he dropped off so abruptly. He was a great motivator and conversationalist here at SimHQ. Another one of the reasons why i was glad to login and see what him and many others were posting.

RIP buddy.

RIP Tom

A huge loss to the community, always a great conversationalist. Clear Skies always my friend.

Threads such as these always remind me of how truly fragile life really is......

Kindest regards,

AJ

Bye Tom.

Thanks for all the laughs and steady handedness here.
