Many times my group will take off from our airfield on a mission. On return, we'll land at a different airfield. Yet, in the details, it says we landed at 'home'. Was landing at a different airfield a common thing in WWI?
Jake, I think “home” just means they made it back. Pilots did land at other fields for various reasons. How often this happened I do not know. Someone with more historical knowledge than me can chime in. Welcome to the meat grinder!
