I remembered something from years ago about having a USB joystick plugged in being the cause of the LB2 post-mission debrief screen crash. Guess what? It is. I unplugged my joystick, entered a mission, exited, and I got the proper debrief screen.

So my question is this. Is there a program that can take a physical USB joystick and virtually emulate it as a Gameport one? Is this something that could be possible? I mean if the game saw the joystick as having a Gameport connection then maybe, just maybe, it won't crash.

I've not really messed around with controller remapper software so am not savvy in this area. Apologies also if this has been discussed before.

Games don't look if joystick is gameport or USB, Windows do this.

Joystick Gremlin allow create a virtual joystick you your current joystick (+ throttle, pedal, of any brand), try if this virtual joystick help.
But add a undesirable layer of complication, is need install VJoy (PITA), then Joystick Gremlin.

Hi Sokol, thanks for the reply. Well yes that's what I ultimately meant, as if Windows sees a joystick a certain way, then a game will either accept it or not.

I've not heard of Joystick Gremlin but I believe there are other programs that do the same thing. Once this is all setup though, does Windows see it as a Gameport joystick?

Surely someone somewhere knows how to fix the LB2 issue. It's literally just having a USB joystick plugged in that is making the game unplayable as far as being able to successfully complete a mission and progressing goes. For me, the gameplay itself is nearly flawless.

This is so frustrating and because of a seemingly trivial problem!

Hi Canadair, which version of dgVoodoo would that be? I'm glad that my install package worked for you.
