For those interested, Fighters Anthology is still being played and improved by a group of us dedicated players. Over the last few years, I have built several new campaigns, including historical Vietnam campaigns, and made improvements to the existing campaigns (except Kuril campaign), as well as improvements to aircraft, weapons, etc...

You can read more on my website, and download the updates.

U.S. Navy Fighters Gold from EA was one of my top PC simulation moments of all time. I loved all the subsequent Jane's sims. Man I miss seeing big box pc games and sims on the shelves. Nice pictures flightsimer90s. Thanks for the info usnraptor.

Hey guys,

I've been dabbling in Fighters Anthology lately, trying to relive the glory days salute Maybe there are some old time Fighter Anthology folks still reading this. Especially USNRAPTOR/damson etc..

@USNRAPTOR: So I downloaded some of your campaigns/addons. I know you like to distribute them as discrete files rather than .libs. For my own organization, I would LIKE to generate a .lib from them. I have a copy of FA Toolkit running on my old XP machine but I cannot figure out HOW to generate a .lib file from a set of files. I tried creating a NEW Project and copying your Israel Campaign, ( IS_CAMV2_1.zip) files into it, but I cannot open the project, since, I suspect the FA Toolkit index files and .dat files are not properly populated.

I was hoping I didn't have to open EACH FILE individually and save it, but I don't actually see any option to do that either without them being part of a valid project.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Similarly, has anyone succeeded in getting the FA Toolkit running on Win 7x64?

Recluse,

If you want to create a lib from my files, you have your work cut out for you.

You need to open the toolkit, start a new project, and start saving files in the toolkit to your project, then copy my files over them.

example: Let's say I have an F18E.PT that you want. In your new project, you need to:

1. Go to the aircraft menu
2. Select F18C.PT
3. Save it as F18E.PT
4. Go to windows explorer, and copy my F18E.PT over the F18E.PT you just created

Now you have my F18E in your project. You have to do that with every file, including the mission files.

Libs are a giant pain, and make upgrading the game a giant pain. My way, if I create a new weapon, I copy one file over to the game. With a lib, I have to go through the hassle of creating the lib as well.

In the future, my playset may involve deleting two of the game default libs and substituting in files instead. The game has a limit on total "improvements" that can be made in the game, and the only way to raise that limit would be to directly replace the default items.

If you want further assistance, you can contact me via e-mail. My e-mail address is listed at the bottom of my website: http://myplace.frontier.com/~usnraptor/
You can also visit us at the Fighters Anthology Resource Center Forum. If you have trouble gaining membership there, you can e-mail be about that as well.

one of the funnest games on play ability. Just finished Vietnam line backer campaign cool to watch ai help with missions, like longbow 2 but no flight recorder. and no ai stats.
cockpits can only be seen when you change resolution to 800x600. awesome game. many campaigns and quick missions are great and not boring.

Nearly all aircraft are flyable. Did you fly the default Vietnam campaign, or one of mine?

I have three Vietnam campaigns available now, and one in the works. It should be available by May.

You should join the Fighters Anthology Resource Center Forum. Several of us modders visit the page almost every day. I rarely come here.
