Ayup, it was British. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/bh.html

Just reading the intro section from that, Belize doesn't look as appealing as it used to.

We went there on a cruise, our excursion was canceled so the kids stayed on the boat while the adults went on shore to shop. When we got to the little area on the water they had the shops, they had armed guards outside the fence area... Made me very glad our excursion was canceled

I moved from Connecticut to a small town of New Concord Ohio..Winters are tolerable and being a small town it's really laid back..Don't drive but everything is within walking distance and if it isn't available here there's always Amazon..They roll up the sidewalks around 6 and the biggest draw is an ice cream place down the hill Just a nice quiet town and not like CT here everyone says hello when they pass..And like vonBaur I move a lot from the deck,,living room computer and just enjoy the no hassle living..For excitemenyt I take my pup around town for a walk..

I retired in October and moved to Paris in late March. I kept my house in Louisiana.

Oh wow. Now that's a big change! I hope it's worked out well for you so far.

Notre-Dame is near by. Fortunately we went inside before the fire. And we’ve avoided the yellow vests so far.

To all my Yankee friends...Alabama is every bad thing you heard about and worse, with nothing but gun toting rednecks, a scarcity of indoor plumbing, poor dental hygiene, etc.

You should definitely retire to anywhere but here.

If I ever decided to move, I think I would like to try the Reno, Nevada area. I think that climate would probably help with my aches and pains.

If it's cold you're looking to avoid then Reno is definitely not the place to go.
