For Christmas, I got a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS (Joystick, Throttle, & Pedals) to replace my old Saitek X36 specifically for WOFF. The problem is I can't get the pedals to map to the rudder.
The pedals attach to the throttle and are seen as Slider1 in the Key mapping utility. The key mapper recognizes the slider1 axis and happily maps it to the Yaw; but WOFF won't recognize it. I have followed the FAQ and unmapped any axes I don't want to use (e.g. the twist on the joystick and the rudder bar on the throttle); but still no luck. In fact, if I map the joystick twist or rudder bar to yaw control it works fine. That makes me wonder if something under the covers is mapping a rotation to a +/- scale while a slider is on a 0/+ scale; but that's pure speculation on my part.
One final note, I went poking around int he WOFFKeys.xca file, and noticed that the P4Use parameter was set to "n" for Slider1 (the pedals), so I thought I'd try setting it to "y"; but not luck either.
I have attached the key mapper screens for the main joystick and throttle in the hopes that somebody can spot something obvious (I can't figure out how to embed them in this post).
I believe the rudder axis has to be the Rz or Z-Axis. Can you ,in the Thrustmaster software, somehow change the Rudder axis from Slider1 to Z or Rz?
Edit: Something more to note,a controller needs atleast a X and Y axis to be seen by the Sim when in the mission. I had a problem too, long time ago, where my Pedals didn't have a X and Y axis. Doesn't matter if the Keymapper sees them without those requirements.
I don't think the problem is the xy axes, since the pedals plug into the throttle, there's an x/y axis on the throttle.
I was trying to avoid the TM software, mostly because WOFFKeys utility is so good, and my attempts to use it weren't working -- unclear error messages even when I created a "default" setup which didn't map anything. But, I think you are right that the rudder axis MUST be either the Rz or Z-axis (that 's why the joystick twist works), so I went back to the TM software and tried again.
For those using the TM software (TARGET), it combines the two controllers (stick and throttle) into a single joystick. Unfortunately, for the T.16000M hardware, it does it in such a way that were multiple X, Y, Z and rotation axes and I think that's why my profiles weren't working. Anyway, remapping the pedals as Rz and disabling a few of the unneeded controls has got me a working setup.
Now I need to to learn to fly these kites with a rudder (the rudder bar on my old X36 was busted -- thus the new setup).
Thanks Lausbub78.

Welcome to the forum mandrews. First, disconnect the pedals from the joystick and connect them to a separate USB port, then take a look at the sticky post on the matter.
Edit: And I was 2 minutes too slow. Glad it’s working now.

[Re: Fullofit]
I don't have hte RJ12 to USB adapter that TM sells, so that wasn't an option.
Thanks for the welcome Fullofit. I wonder what percentage of first posts are "I'm having trouble with ..." posts . I'll be sticking around. Maybe I can help some other poor souls with their first posts.
I have the exact same problem you described, using the same Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS (Joystick, Throttle, & Pedals) setup. Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me create a working config in the TARGET software. Any chance you could send your profile my way?
My apologies for not posting this sooner. I wasn't looking and I hadn't been logged when reading the forums for some time now (I'm not a big poster), so I didn't see the request. I think I finally have a TM16000 TARGET configuration that gets the rudder mapped properly and avoid a conflict with the buttons. This last one was harder than I realized because it required defining a mapping both the press and release events. Several axes are unmapped to avoid the limitations of DX (8 axes/sliders, 32 buttons).
The file is attached. Copy it into your configuration directory and rename it so the suffix is fcf. Let me know if you have any questions.
I have a problem using the Thrustmaster 16000m with my CH pro pedals I can not get WOFF to bind the pedals WOFF sees the pedals but will not bind them.
I have installed the CH CONTROL MANAGER as advised in the FAQ still no luck.
The Thrustmaster CH pedals work fine in all my other flight sims.
I have now come to the stage of not flying in WOFF now or ever again I just popped in to see if there was a solution to my problem.
I understand WOFF is a old sim and one can not expect much after all the graphics leave a lot to be desired in my opinion.

[Re: mandrews]
You might want to start a new Thread for this issue. Though I am surprised no one else has chimed in here yet. Perhaps this bump will provide some action.
This Thread was about the Thrustmaster FCS pedals.
You are indicating you have CH Pro Pedals.
I know there are others here using CH Pro Pedals.
Unfortunately I do not.
p.s.
The following line is misleading - Thrustmaster does not make the CH Pro Pedals. The Thrustmaster CH pedals work fine in all my other flight sims.
Graphics - WOFF UE flyers are not flying WOFF for state of the art graphics, but for an engrossing simulation with excellent AI to fight and graphics that get the job done. We understand the limitations of the application.
Regards,

Sorry to bring up an old thread. mandrews can you provide a download or picture, how to remap the pedals, as iam being a total noob and struggling. Just purchased the T16000 set with the pedals, cheers willo
