I second what PR just said. In all honesty, AnKor has gotten the CFS3 code to do things that, by any measure, it shouldn't be capable of doing. Real time shadow casting, volumetric effects, etc., are all things that were barely feasible and never indented to work in Microsoft's seventeen year old code. Eventually, OBD will have to find either a way to bake in some form of DX11 or 12 into CFS3 (I can already see AnKor hovering over a cauldron reciting incantations) or they'll have to find some sort of graphics engine that they can then port OFF over to. Only time will tell. Regardless, I mostly just thank our lucky stars that we have Pol, Winder, and AnKor to keep this amazing sim running and I appreciate it the way one enjoys a fine wine or a classic car - it's not without its idiosyncrasies, but it's the only WWI sim on my PC.
