My Boss arrived at work this morning in a brand new Aston-Martin Vanquish.
I said, "Wow that is a beautiful car!"

He replied, "Hey if you work hard, put in all your hours, and strive for excellence, I'll be able to get another one next year."

You're in Texas though so that boss would most likely be getting a Ford F-350 with dually wheels and extended cab. biggrin

Y'all realize that was a joke???

And yes, to Haggart, I am looking at replacing the 1998 Ford F150 with a new one. The Limited with the Raptor engine is $77K 0-60Mph in 6.0 seconds

Arch, I looked at used Aston, only 45-50K with 18K miles on it.
But I also found out that the brake job you need is $32,000 US for the handmade ceramic rotors. YEOW!
Probably why almost all of the used Astons had less than 25K miles on them!

A First Mate is very proud of his new promotion. He has spent many hard years under his stern captain.

After the 1st Mate's inaugural voyage as 1st Mate is over, he rushes home to celebrate with his wife. They go to a bar and he sees the captain.

"Captain sir, will you have a drink with us in honor of my new position?"
"Certainly I will" says the captain.

The next voyage comes up and the 1st Mate reviews the ship's log. He is surprised to see that the captain has made several entries despite the ship not being underway with her crew. In fact, one catches his eye- the very night he and his wife invited the captain to have a drink with them, the captain entered "Saw first mate drinking".

Flabbergasted, the 1st mate asks to speak to the captain. "What is it?" the captain asks.
"Sir, I see in the log you're recorded me as drinking"
"Yes"
"while we were in port"
"Yes"
"And while celebrating with you"
"Yes my man. It happened, and it is the truth"
"This suggests I am a man of vices and cannot be trusted sir"
"It happened, and it is the truth"

Disgusted, the 1st mate walks away. His career could be in jeopardy if a new captain takes over the vessel and feels he is a drunkard. The voyage continues without mishap and they return to port.

The evening they arrive home, the captain has invited the ship owner to dine with him and his officers on board. The owner comes aboard and looks over the ship. He asks to see the log, which is fetched for him. He opens it and stands aghast as he reads.

"Captain!" says he, "what disgraceful employ have you occupied yourself with aboard my ship?"
"What can you mean sir?!" the captain replies. "I am an honorable and truthful man!"
"Then what is the meaning of this?" the owner says and begins to read: "April the 3rd. Captain seen on deck today, and sober!"

The captain turns red-faced and livid to his officers.
"Who is responsible for this?!" he bellows.

The 1st mate steps forward and says "I kept the log that day sir"
"What do you mean by this outrage then??" screams the captain.

"Sir" the First mate replies. "It happened, and it is the truth"

It's no joke to people who've seen that "exact" scenario.

Work hard, put in the hours, strive for excellence, boss gets new toys - yeah, I've seen that....

I guess I must be the only one who's seen that...........

If I want to go 0-60 in 6 seconds I'll get myself a Mustang Shelby or Cobra instead of a pick up truck but that's just me. wink

So you not be a 'redneck' then. neaner

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

I really like Southern Rock and I LOVE Cracker Barrel. Does that at least make me an honorary redneck?

You may want to reexamine what you think is the life of most business owners. Most of the time my employees were making better money than me. If you figured it hourly I never made better money than most of the employees since the Govt. won't let you work them for free when they screw things up. You get to pay them twice or more for the same project or until their lack of productivity reaches a level that they aren't worth the headache anymore.
