Good FWIW, I ran the 109 Jg26 from the 1.6 planeset Which planeset is it ? However, in this plane there is no red line in 1.28c or 1.29. The ones with the red line are the 109G-6 and the109G-6/U4 multiskins in Modred's planeset.

Having returned safely from an enjoyable week of snow in the Alps I have converted Modred's skins and FMs to 160 format. I now have a planeset made, but it uses the default hangar screen as I am not prepared to convert the 640x480 screens. From his comments he had not modified the default 1.28c theatre, so I have been testing it with the ETO default theatre loaded. It seems to be working well. Let me know if you want the files to try

Here is a link to the download: https://www.mediafire.com/file/251o9q5ktuab1wz/ModredAOE160PS.exe/fileRun it in your UAW160 folder. It will add Modred's skins and FMs to your "Aircraft_Inventory" and a "81-ModredAoE" file to your "Planesets" folder. When selected I recommend using the default ETO theatre. One fault I have found is that in the RAF Mustang III the cockpit needles are not in the right places. This goes back to Modred's 1.28c installation, and possibly to Emil's original. As I mentioned previously the default 1024x768 hangar screen is used for all of the aircraft. I also run with "NoMinipics" as they have not been separated. Edit Today is Mardi Gras and the old file at MediaFire has been replaced with a better one. The new one has the Mustang III cockpit gauge needles displaying properly, and all the flyable planes have their own hangar screens, many of which came from Ray's folders March 6th: Overnight something went wrong with the download posted yesterday. I have replaced the file at MediaFire and obtained a new link In a later post in this thread there is a link to a download of the AoE160 theatre which can be used instead of the default ETO one. Jel

I have just made a simple theatre for AoE 160 which uses all of the files in the 1.28c version that are compatible with 160. I will post a link once I have tested it further Here is the link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/b7i6raspmsb7a11/ModredAOE160Theatre.exe/fileRun the downloaded 7-Zip file in your UAW160 folder as usual Jel

One fault I have found is that in the RAF Mustang III the cockpit needles are not in the right places.
For all users. There is probably an easy fix. First make a copy of the entire MustangIII skin folder and just leave it there. This way if my advice doesn't work ou can just delete the folder and rename the copy. The navigate over to a folder in Aircraft_inventory that contains the skins for one of the P-51B's or D's. Copy the files, Pla_VIEW.cpt and VCGplane.dat and paste into the MustangIII skin folder. One or the other should fix the problem. I don't know which because I haven't looked at this addon. If that doesn't do it, it's simple enough to go back and do the same thing but also copy the PLANEX.tpc and PLANEX.3dz, which are the actual gauges, the same way.

Agreed. It was sheer stupidity when people argued and even campaigned about the establishment of the slot-free system. Their only argument was that they could not test their skins in the root folder. It was not valid because they could make their skins and test them as usual in the root folder using 1.28e...1.29. Once the skins were ready they could send them to me for conversion, or learn to use the converter software themselves. There was nothing stopping them from making and testing them in the first place. The benefits are enormous. We now have a massive Aircraft_Inventory, which will grow even larger, and many planesets already set-up for people to use. EAW is a game and you play games for fun. I have no problems in running the DAW theatre with one of the SPAW planesets, and enjoying my flights. Of course, this never happened historically, but it is enjoyable. If a player only wishes to fly in more historical scenarios they are still free to select a theatre plus an appropriate planeset. Jel

Or...................they can take 10 minutes and learn to build their own plane sets.
As to the testing of models, I do it a little different because I like to stay in 1.6.
First I pick a plane set. Doesn't matter for the most part which one but it's best to select one that has a mix of aircraft types, like fighters, attack and level bombers.
Then I navigate over to an appropriate skin folder that is listed in that plane set. By appropriate I mean:
1 - Axis, Allied 2 - Fighter, Attack, Bomber 3 - Number of engines.
I copy it and then erase all the files in the original.
Next I copy in the files from the plane I'm working on and get to work.
When the game runs I see what I've done.
Once the model is done I do exactly the same thing with the flight data.
Once that's complete I rename the folders to match the new plane's designation and then rename the copied folder to the original.
Easy Peasy. Take five minutes to understand.
Heck, even paranoids have enemies.

There is a replacement download for the original version here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/e4h6w4ohxx3z7hg/ModredAOE160PS.exeThe old file has been replaced at MediaFire, so at this juncture anyone downloading it will get the new one anyway As usual run it in your UAW160 folder but let it overwrite existing files. The difference between the old and the new is that the Mustang III cockpit has been fixed, and all the flyable planes now have their own hangar files

It was working but something must have gone awry. I deleted the old file from MediaFire and uploaded a replacement. https://www.mediafire.com/file/251o9q5ktuab1wz/ModredAOE160PS.exe/fileI will test this link as soon as I have made the post It worked and took a couple of minutes to download here
