Opinions?
Started watching recently, into the second season now. It's okay but a bit "cheesy" compared to say TNG.

This is the one with Kevin Sorbo right? I’ve not seen it but “cheese” is his middle name. He's not bad in the series at all, in fact the only real cheesy actor is the guy that plays "Tyr", he's really bad. It's the writing I find "cheesy" more so than the acting.

As I recall, I thought the "Virtual Assistant" actress was attractive... Oh, she is. As is the "XO". And the purple chick is cute too, other than being purple that is. My two least favorite characters are "Rev" and "Tyr", each seems to be an exaggerated caricature of different attributes of a TNG Klingon. Plus Rev looks like he's wearing a baggy monkey suit a couple of sizes too big for the actor. Oh and the faster than light travel method, "slipstreaming", is cheesy too.

To me Beka Valentine often has a striking resemblance to Kara Thrace, similar mannerisms etc.

I just looked up the show on IMDB. This ran from 2000-2005 on the SciFi Channel and it had 110 episodes. I think it was just syndicated, and I don't recall watching it on the SciFi channel.

We finished the series a couple of weeks ago, it satisfied my spaceship sci-fi craving for a while and I'm glad we watched it but it's not in the same league as Trek, B5, BSG, etc by any means.
We've begun watching "Farscape" now, much less cheesy.

Only 13 episodes were made before cancellation so it’s a relatively obscure show so I doubt any streaming services have it. Your best bet would be to buy the dvd set from Amazon like I did several years ago.

Comet TV has run through it a couple of times during the past year. Comet is awesome. Reminds me of the old Channel 36 and 46 here in Atlana during the 80s. No need for cable. Of the bits and pieces I've caught of Andromeda, I'd say the show is pretty fluffy and I'm not a fan of Kevin Sorbo's wooden acting. Definitely not B5, BSG, Next Gen or TOS level. Lots of pretty ladies, though.

I've not seen it but based on the comments I've read from others it seems like "Andromeda" was a scifi version of Sorbo's Hercules show as far as the campiness factor is concerned. Late in the series Captain Hunt, Sorbo, is opening a panel to get at a hidden stash of "force lance" weapons, also inside is a whopping big sword. He looks at the people with him and says "long story". LOL
