I have a question regarding prop pitch and when I should be switching it up.

During takeoff I run at 3000 rpm
once airborne, I drop the pitch so that I am running at 2600 rpm at max throttle, which I think gives max speed in level flight.

Do you fine flyers adjust pitch for climbing or combat, or do folks prefer to run at 2600 rpm for the majority of the flight?

Should be...

Unlimited = 2600 rpm, @+3 boost.
Climb/Combat + 2600 rpm, @ +6 boost (30 mins)
Combat boosted or emergency = 3000 rpm @ +6 boost (5 mins)

Many thanks Trooper. Just wanted to make sure I was getting the most out of the machine.

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

I've noticed during take off, the auto pilot uses Wep for about the first 1000 ft. I've started doing that and I can usually keep up. During climb out, I'll keep it at 3000 rpm for a bit. Then I'll bring it back to 2600 rpm for the rest of the climb. The AI (flight leader) must pitch back around 5000 ft or so, because if I don't bring it back to 2600 rpm, I'm left behind.
During cruise, 2650 rpm seems to be the sweet spot.
