Ross, thank you so much for posting this. It is a beautiful story and truly made my day. Tony is a sweet and wonderful man and a credit to his countrymen.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." -- Ephesians 6: 12-13 KJV

I'm with you JCathcart. This was great and thank you RossUK for sharing. This gentleman is so honorable having kept sort of a continuous vigil for these fallen American serviceman his whole life. I can only imagine how it must have impacted a little boy's eyes and life seeing allied airman come down in his own back yard so to speak having given their all to service in the war and far from their home. God bless Tony and the fallen heroes he's kept watch over for so long.

Coot said it perfectly.

Thanks Ross.

What an awesome story. This is the good side of humanity at work.

If only everyone in the world was as selfless as this Honorable man. He has held an amazing vigil all of these years in Honor of the Crew of that B17 and now he gets his wish of a fly by on the exact day to commemorate the anniversary. What a Blessing. yep
Thanks for sharing Sir. As a USA born citizen I can confidently say that we Americans do Love the UK and Her people and I know that we would go to war again to stand by Her side to defend Freedom and defeat any assault on Her Sovereignty. salute
