Question for Timothy. In the tactical jump with the C-130 departing in the right side of the photo (fifth picture). We were trained not to drop our equipment bag until we were near rhe ground. But it looks like about half of the jumpers have dropped them at altitude. Has there been a change ?
That picture of the snake crossing the sniper. There is a big fault in the Sniper. There are twigs and fine vegetation in front of the scope. Because it is close to the scope you can see through it, but it produces a great amount of blurr caused by it which really degrades the clarity which affects the sighting. Serious fault.

Equally as calm as the sniper is the calm photographer who happens to be hanging out in front of a sniper scope. Maybe a spotter? By the way, I posted this link on Facebook and my sister asked why I only liked 26 of the images. Then I realized that the title clearly says "27 images." Oops.
The issue is not p*ssy. The issue is monkey.

SAT is the exact same as it was when you went through. They didn't change anything for the T-11 (Still I'm grateful I got to jump the T-10 in 2012). SAT for the the MC-6 is basically the same, except has a bit about toggles and in 2013 they added a bit about a toggle malfunction and how to correct for it. So if they still instruct to drop your equipment at 200 feet, why do soldiers do it as soon as they check canopy and gain canopy control? The chute doesn't oscillate. The square chute with the holes in the corners negates oscillation, so guys just drop their rucks to get one less thing to deal with before they prepare for landing. There is a negative with dropping equipment earlier, it's easier to sky shark. That said, sky sharking in the T-11 has a higher chance of horrific injuries and that is from the Army's own study. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ6QX-OsWUc&t=(about 16 seconds into it) Personally, my best friend from college in 5/19 broke his back at Airborne from a sky shark. He was off status for a year, before he could get his 6th and 7th jumps in. Supposedly, they fixed the issues with the T-11 having a major malfunction, for a while it was killing 5 jumpers a year. Give me the MC-6 any day of the week, I'll exit, and steer myself right to the DZSO/Chute Truck.

i was taught that it greatly endangered other j7mpers because any lateral drift could cause them to get entangled in your hanging equipment. We were trained 100 feet.
That video link didn’t show what I expected.

That video link didn’t show what I expected. I agree, it makes the risk of sky sharking much easier. It might have been 100 feet for the T-10. The MC-6 is 200 because you have to have time to face the wind with the toggles. I prefer dropping my CE at 75 feet or less. I make sure to jump with a heavy enough kit that when that tab gets yanked, the bag will drop. Too many guys under pack the bag, then it requires a few kicks to get the bag to drop. I just think they don't want to deal with trying to figure out who to give UCMJ to for dropping the CE early. To me it is the mark of an less than confident jumper. For the MC-6, the confident jumper will steer toward the DZSO and then face the wind at the end. The less than confident jumper will face the wind immediately and ride the chute in and correct if needed at 200 feet. Did I ever tell you about the time I had a bag burn in about 25 feet away from me?
