I feel like it's been a long time wandering in the desert, but the Sabres are finally a team worth watching again!
Tonight they got their 9th straight win with a shoot out victory over Detroit.
They are currently number 1 in the league. After being at the bottom of the barrel for the last few years, hockey is fun again in Buffalo!!!
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein
Jack Eichel is a local boy (MA) which is nice, but I work with a young woman who went to college with him and she mentioned he was a real horse's ass ("I'm Jack Eichel" sorta thing) but it seems to me he's matured as both a player and a person.
Buffalo deserves some good NHL hockey.
What kind of car is that? What does it matter? When I drive it, I'm Steve McQueen
His play has matured quite a bit to be sure, I can’t speak to his off ice persona, he doesn’t seem to be one of those spotlight guys outside of the arena.
Rasmussen Dahlin is also looking really good, especially for an 18 year old. He’s going to be something when his game reaches its potential.

The new guy Skinner sure has helped too. I could never understand why that team wasn't better the last few years. It's good to see them back in the hunt. I was beginning to think Housley wasn't going to last as coach.

They got Skinner from Carolina for the proverbial bag of pucks - a mid tier prospect and two later draft picks in 2020. Gotta wonder if Carolina is having a little buyers remorse.
The consensus s of what is different this year is a little more buy-in to Housely’s system and addition-by-subtraction with the Ryan O’Reilly trade. That trade is starting to look even better as Tage Thompson is starting to come along.
Goaltending is also MUCH improved over last year as well. They are still a pretty young team but they are starting to develop.

10 now after last night, and on top of the NHL to boot! Not bad for the last place team last year! Don't read lips!

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
Yes, amazing story for the Sabres. I believe they are the first team in NHL history to finish one season last overall, and then be first overall this late in the following season. Since the advent of free agency plenty of teams have made dramatic turnarounds, but none quite like this. And on top of that I can't even begrudge them the success. It's hard to hate Buffalo Mogilny and Hasek are two of my all time favorites.
Not seeing the discrepancy KK, they all seem to add up to me. Which team specifically?
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
Looks OK now but last night, was late, I came up 4 games short.

Easy to hate Buffalo if your a Toronto fan. It comes natural. They play each other Tuesday night, can't wait.
Right back at ya! Though as a former Sabre’s season ticket holder I did appreciate sell8ng my Leafs tickets to Toronto fans for enough to pay for my season tickets!
