I'am almost sure you'd see Thief 4 differently. But i can also fully understand that for someone not familiar with previous Thief games, Thief 4 could be an enjoyable one.

When I read the thread title I also instantly thought of Thief. I loved the first three games, with Metal Age my favorite. The Cradle mission from Thief 3 might be my favorite level of all time. Just brilliant.

What I've envisioned for years, is an open world Thief game. The idea is there is a vast city to be cased and plundered, and there would be other thieves going about their business too. In essence, a competition to see who the best thief in the city is. The hook is that aside from grabbing your ill-gotten gains you'd always be looking for ways to trip up the competition. Maybe you see one sneak in to a house late at night as you sit nearby in the shadows. As a guard walks by you shoot an arrow, break the window, which awakens the resident who spots the other guy, raises the alarm and the guard arrests him and hauls him off to jail while you snicker. Then you raid the house while the guard is heading back to the cop shop.

I've always wanted something like this, ever since playing the 'Life of the Party' mission in Thief 2 nearly 20 years ago.

From the creators of Thief.

I'd suggest trying Prey, instead, until Ascendant is finished.

Prey is fantastic.

As for sequels I /really/ want, Dragon's Dogma is first on my list right now. The first game was incredible, and begged for more content, and deserves a sequel like few other games.

I second the recommendation for "Prey". It is absolutely one of the most creative sci-fi first person shooters I've ever played. Great story too.

Based on the sources I've read from the developers themselves, the technology simply doesn't exist yet to make AI smart enough to compete against experienced human flight simmers without the use of cheats/buffs/handicapps/ etc.

Lol, and when the technology does exist and we end up with something like skynet we would complain that they got it too real. biggrin

Jurassic Park Tresspasser...the game had so much potential, i would really like to see it realized with today technology..hell, i would not mind if someone scrap all the jurassic park reference, and just remake it as an island where a mad scientist made weird experiments and brough the dinossaurs either back to life or from the past with so weird machine.
i just want a survival game with dinossaurs in a lost island.....(no the ark sucks)

As far as Age of Sail era games go; I would recommend checking out Naval Action
For Silent Hunter in the cold war era, I would have a look at Cold Waters.

Both games are available on Steam..

I'm a crappy pilot, but one hell of a shot.

I would snap up a modern version of Akela's games, single player, with real-ish movement and combat speed.

NA is not helped by it's multiplayer only 'speed boat' physics, and some odd design decisions (such as "armour" being a thing with Oak hulls against iron shot.

I really miss my AOS2 and am tempted to experiment with virtual machines for no other purpose than to make it work again. It wasn't perfect, but suits my needs and tastes more than NA.

I love the way Naval Action looks but I'm only interested in single player. I would like to get Cold Waters at some point. Uboot is coming out soon which looks interesting.

I may give Gentleman of Fortune mod for City of Abandoned Ships a try.

I was thinking about Trespasser as well Blade. I really enjoyed what I played of that game back in the day. I think its the first game I remember seeing any kind of physics being modeled.

The Bladerunner RPG would be fantastic. I have played the old Westwood Studios Bladerunner game.

Another LA Noire type game with better combat, yes please

More games with capability like the ARMA series would be good. Fans of ARMA 3 know that it's pretty much a game creation game. It's even been turned into a Mario Bros type game. Google "ARMA 3 Super Miller land"

An actual Star Wars RPG that doesn't suck would be nice

17th Century European adventuring hero or scoundrel game with good combat. It's the Three musketeers era.

Panzer Elite with modern graphics.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Some upcoming games, there's a bit of potential there, although too many are multiplayer for my liking.
