On my tablet so sorry in advance for spelling or grammatical errors, fat fingers and tiny bloody letters:)

I want to move onto a couple of aircraft in the next couple of months but i am stuck because of scale. Obviously 1/32 would have to be the pick being closer to 1/35 but the downside seems to be a lack of kits. Is 1/48 easily recognisable as far smaller when sitting with 1/35 armour? It will do my head in if the scale is to far off lol.

The first kit i wanted to do was a Sea Fury but i coukd only find two kits, one with very average detail, hardly worth buying due to crappy and poor prop and undersized spinner amongst other issues, and then another priced uo near 220 odd dollars AUS. Eeeek.

Tamiya has a really limited range and going by the T34 i built Academy doesn't excite me. Hasegawa maybe? I think they have the prime 190's and 109's? Kits i would like to do include are a 190, Tempest, 109 and Fury and then also some of the cooler old jets like the Thunderchief, Supersabre and Skyhawk. All available easily in 1/48.

Just thinking aloud more than anything guys, cheers.

Don't know about the scale accuracy of the models but https://www.megahobby.com/categories/model-aircraft/1-32-scale.html has a large selection of 1/32 model kits.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Sad that I as a young boy/teenager could afford 1/32 aircraft models but as a 56 year old employed adult I can't ( well I can but I can't justify $80-$100+ for a model of a Corsair)

Hi Ajay,
I think 1/48 aircraft would look way out of scale next to 1/35 armour. Even 1/35 next to 1/32 is noticeable. For reference here is a shot of two figures I'm working on. 1/35 on the left, and 54mm (1/32) on the right. Quite close in scale but still very different.

If you're set one matching scale there's an extensive 1/48 armour series from Tamiya, to go along all those 1/48 aircraft you've found, so you could switch and maintain a constant scale.

The easiest way is to just build what you're interested in at the time, and hang the scale difference. smile
