Hi,

Does Airwrench2 work with WoTR? I have some frustrations wiht the flight modelling and I think this may help ease them if it is compatible. It says it is compatible for CFS3...

http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=airwrench

Thanks

I think the Dev's changed the FM's long ago, so Airwrench2 should not work, but give it a try and let us know if it does.

I don't own the software, I'm trying to find out if it is known to work before I buy it, otherwise I'd be wasting money.

I think there is some odd behaviour in the FM for the Hurricane (I don't know about the 109) which might be helped by changing the values in the config and whatever the 'air' file is I've seen mentioned in the Airwrench documentation. Experiments with manually changing values in the config file do seem to help but I'm not sure how they interact or what values are possible and figured Airwrench could be a good tool for me, if it works of course.

If you want to have a go, there's always Aired which is less functional but is freeware.

I couldn't find it online so here's my copy:

Another thing you could try would be to substitute the files from one of the CFS3 AvH Hurricanes, it would need a change to the headers but other than that they look very similar.

Cheers,

Clive

AirWrench2 will work, as may other FM tools. However note there are several things that could break though, including for example the AI's ability to fly well in all situations - take off, land, formation flying, dogfighting in all situations and so on.
The AI is trained using our software, on our current FMs.
Any changes may cause odd things to happen depending on what changes there are.

Thanks.

I've already made some changes manually to the aircraft file for what I guess is just the player profile for that aircraft. Hopefully that won't effect the AI profile but my understanding may be wrong. I'll see how that goes, and of course any damage done is my own fault and I'll have to revert to default if needed!

I might give air wrench a try at some point and see what happens. As it is I'm pleased with the tweaks I've made and they seem to suit my preferences (I am not knowledgeable on what they should be).

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm looking forward to the next DLC whenever that comes.

Update: I did buy the software and as I hoped it has meant i can tweak things to my own preference much easier.

Unfortunately a back injury means i haven't had time to fully test things, but my changes weren't too drastic but seemed to be enough to add just a little more ' difficulty' to flying that I was looking for on my initial trials.
