Always a good thing. Closure for the (existing) family.

Always makes you think - He died in February '45. Just a few more weeks and the war ended.

Good to see him going home.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't there just one pilot still alive from the Tuskegee Airmen?

Did find this article PM https://theundefeated.com/features/willie-rogers-tuskegee-airmen/ Also found an article that not only included pilots but all ground service personnel but this article specifically refers to pilots

How many Tuskegee Airmen are currently living?

How many Tuskegee Airmen are currently living? (as of 18-Sep-2018)

For several reasons, we are unable to determine the exact number of all individuals who actually participated in the Tuskegee Airmen experience between March 22, 1941 and November 5, 1949—time period the experience or experiment existed. Consequently, we are challenged to provide the actual number of all Tuskegee Airmen participants who are still living. Through our research, we can confirm as of September 18, 2018 that 13 of the 355 Tuskegee Airmen single engine pilots who served in the Mediterranean theater operation during WWII are currently living. In addition, we can confirm 2 of 32 Tuskegee Airmen single engine pilots who were prisoners of war (POW) are still living.
