Hi All,

I will be attending a recap meeting for the 2018 World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous.

Do any past attendees have any thoughts or comments on how to improve the 2020 event?

This could be anything about the event itself or the WOFF presence.

Thanks.

Stache;

I must tell you that at the dinner I was quite miffed that the WOFF tent wasn't even mentioned when the announcer (Denise Bollinger) was thanking all the event presenters.

I took the opportunity to kick off an email (25th of September) to Denise when I returned home and I haven't even had a response to it. You might want to express my disappointment. Here is the content of my email:

Denise;

Just wanted to drop you a line and comment on how fantastic and successful the event was.

The quantity and quality of the events and presenters was top notch.

The Banquet at the museum was a cut above the 2016 dinner. There was a great selection of quality food. The Banquet was well attended with few if any empty chairs.

I was particularly impressed with the skill set of the air force band. They truly have the quality of studio musicians. I could have listened to them all night. I made a point of meeting up with two of them before they left the event and expressed my gratitude and pleasure with their performance.

One not so happy note was the lack of mention of the “Aces over Wright Field” flight sim tent. It seems to have been missed during the announcement and thank you presentation, both in 2016 and again this year. I’m not sure why this happened but I know those who worked the tent gave their all to please the crowd and in fact slept in the tent in order to protect the expensive computer systems they brought to the event. They are dedicated to that event and plan to attend every two years. It would be nice if you were to send a note off to james@weldcraftwheels.com and mikesaunders@comcast.net with regards to this oversight.

That said, the event raised the bar this year and that will be hard to beat!

Best Regards;
Robert Wiggins

Stache,

I was absolutely blown away by the work you did to introduce the WOFF sim to so many. Your rig was nothing short of amazing. I'm wondering if we could prepare a little information handout about WOFF (and perhaps WOTR) to answer many of the questions we heard, mainly "How and where do I go to buy it?" and some of the system requirement questions. Of course, we'd have to get the devs' approval. I'd be happy to work on this for next year if you think it would help.
