This has happened three times now. I’m flying French, summer 1916. I lead. I usually have a numerical advantage, 5/3, 3/2, etc., and a qualitative edge— N17 v Eindecker IV. Fights always break down. First fight a down an Eindecker along with Mate X. We regroup. Everyone is present no smoking. I’m undamaged and still have 300 rounds. So we continue the patrol. Another set of EAs. We engage. This time I’m with Mate Y. I down another Eindecker. We all fly home. I report. I have two claims boxes but only a single witness box. X didn’t witness the second kill. Y didn’t witness the first. I have one claim denied.

Glad you brought that up. I always thought it was odd but just accepted it. But I had exactly the same thing happen to me. I shot down 2 Nieuports with 2 different witnesses and got only one kill confirmed. Just never put two and two together.

Nowi,
Click on your 1st witness, then click on the witness box and type in your second witness.

Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from either end.

Really? Something new to me, either. Thx.

the only problem I ever had with claims is that on one campaign sortie I had accidentally left the claims setting on "easiest". we were scrambling to go intercept some planes away from our base but got tackled by enemy fighters as we were gaining altitude over our base. then, during the melee I got separated from my flight and went to our designated waypoint. I found nothing and went back. by the time I got back home my entire flight had disappeared. I then got attacked by two enemy fighters and shot them down literally a mile away from my home field. when I went back to land my entire flight simply abandoned our mission and landed. so I didn't even get the opportunity to file a claim for the two aircraft I had shot down. it was a bit bewildering... but I figure I'll get another chance later.

that being said, if I'm in a Pfalz D.IIIa and get bounced by a pair of Airch DH5s and shoot them both down in flames practically a mile away from my home field 20 miles behind the lines... I would hope that I could at least get credit for it. but the important thing is that I survived... and the Brits will be more than happy to give me another chance to shoot them down! if I had left the claims setting on hard I probably would have been allowed to MAKE those two claims and probably would have been denied them. but on the easiest settings I wasn't even allowed to make claims once my flight mates landed.

I haven't used the multiple witness box yet... but I did notice it was available.

You will also sometimes get both awarded. Maybe just mention in the text on the 2nd claim witnessed by xxx
