Never having had to deal w/ prop pitch in WOFF......I'm a bit at sea wondering what to do w/ it in WOTR. Assuming it's pretty important.......any chance of having and "auto prop pitch" function in the workshops for those of us who may need it? I see it changing during auto pilot time and have no idea if it locks in some awkward mode when I'm trying to chase bandits in the cockpit. Thx....

The E-4 should have an option for manual/automatic as it was historically- however, it does not for whatever reason.

The Hurricane should be manual - to which degree this is accurately modeled, I'm not sure. Not holding my breath there.

The Hurricane's prop works correctly for the variant they chose. There is a lot of info about propeller use here: http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4438923/prop-pitch-function-question#Post4438923

Hello chaps, btw has anybody noticed in WOTR that prop pitch feathered Ctrl+Shift+P produces full pitch and Ctrl+P feathers the prop which is the opposite of what it says on the Key Guide? Or is it just me?

Well I am no expert on this matter, so I was waiting for someone else to mention it.
But I was thinking that when I noted the prop pitches available by an axis in the above thread link.

My questions are this: What is the optimum RPM for Climb Out, Cruise, ETC?

If you look on the left hand side of the cockpit there is a list!

Do I have to have experience flying a real Messerschmidt to reiterate the fact that the automated prop pitch mechanism in the E-4 isn't working or isn't modeled?

You know... Like... One of the defining technologies that significantly decreased the pilot's work load in combat and contributed to the success that the aerodynamically obsolete Messerschmidt obtained?

I mean... WOTR couldn't possibly have a single, niggling little flaw... Could it?

I am using the incremental method (shift+P button and P button), but yes, the functions seem to be reversed if you think in terms of simple pitch.

Shift+P is tagged as decreasing the pitch, and 'P' is tagged as increasing the pitch, but actually the functions don't work that way. They act as follows:

Shift+P lowers the governor limit (lowers the engine rpm at which the "automatic prop pitch increase" kicks in)
P key raises the governor limit (increases the engine rpm at which the "automatic prop pitch increase" kicks in)

The trick is to think in terms of "controlling the governor" as was explained to me in the prop-pitch thread linked above.

Thanks Scout, I managed to get the pitch control bound to the throttle wheel on my joystick so it is now much easier to use.
