Working (slowly!) getting my joystick programmed and getting used to the Hurricane for my upcoming campaign attempt.
Now the Hurricane is always in assorted flight sims but I have never flown one.
Assuming a 109 gets on my tail what is my best move?

You can not outrun him or dive away that’s for sure or you will be a dead duck.
You have better turn radius, just hope the bf109 is not anything better than rookie, also you can radio for help (forget which key bind I use 2 on my keyboard)
or bail out if you get hit and get a belly full of the North Sea,you will be over friendly terriorty so you can fight another day (get a few days in hospital lovely nurses so you will be high morale when you get back to your squadron!)

PM me and I'll try to send you a May 1940 RAF report on the subject.

Don't think I can attach stuff here.

Most times I have been hit,I’ve never seen the enemy ( which is realistic a good pilot will use height advantage, boom and zoom, hit hard and fast and get away)
Try stay with your formation and keep in contact with your wingman, good 109 fighters were looking for rookie fighters on their own and were easy prey.
All these things are really well implemented in the AI in this sim.
also never fly straight and level in the combat zone and keep looking all round you
Happy flying

I echo Dukes sentiments, thank you guys

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

If you do find yourself lost and at a disadvantage, try get back to an airbase.
Look for clouds to hide in,or if no clouds fly low to the sea or terrain ( planes are harder to spot lower to the ground)
Good luck ps remember don’t be a hero it takes a long time to train good pilots!

With the Hurricane, as others have mentioned, your options are limited.
For me, flying any aircraft that does not have comparable performance to a 109, (in any sim) the only option is to try to lure them into a turn fight.
If the 109 pilot is worth his salt he won't fall for it however.
If you are lucky enough to see them coming, turn into them, (usual stuff) and force them to overshoot.
I've even done this with an IL2 in BoS, being chased by two 109's, and leaving it till the last second as they attack before turning hard and each time they overshoot, until eventually,
one of them made a mistake and I shot him to pieces, and then the other one buggered off!
