Asheville is in the western NC mountains and Florence will most likely be much weakened by the time it gets here. We have been getting daily storms from our south west, which has things pretty wet already. Rain, wind and old trees concern me most here.

I live in the low area of the neighborhood with a creek in back. I'm really worried about flooding. American model forecasts 8-12" of rain for Raleigh so thinking may go to Charlotte to visit my daughter. European model forecasts 4" rain in Raleigh, and 8-12" rain in Charlotte. Sigh

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
To all of you in harms way, please do the right thing and stay safe. Keep an eye on this one and head North or South... don't go West. I'm hoping this thing will simmer down, but it probably won't. We're going to see a lot more of these things happen, and more frequently.

whatever, as for that link, it is OK to call attention to that.
You are making a political/controversial issue in Community Hall. That is not what Community Hall is for. Yours is just not as blatant which is why I was letting it slide.
That southern "jog" they are now forecasting is a bad thing for whomever is N of the eye at landfall. Storm surge is gonna be worse.
