Gotta say, OBD has a gem on their hands with this if dev continues. Been having a blast all day with this sim. A couple of standout features for me:

1. The static crackle in the background of every radio transmission. Very cool smile

2. Cockpit damage - nearly spilled coffee in my lap when I got shot at the first time

3. AI - enough said, AI ARE humans, I don’t care what anyone says!!

Now for the oddities...

1. FM - I feel like the rudder physics are a little wonky. I can step on full right rudder and pivot the airplane about the vertical axis in a 360. This is on hard/realistic FM

2. The airplanes “feel” light and boxy when on the ground taking off/landing. Not sure how to describe it, but I wish they had more “weight”. Idk?

On the last point: well, they are designed to fly... rofl Seriously, though, the original IL2 crates were even squirrelier on the ground and everyone liked that FM at the time... Maybe it's realistic. Having a blast here too! Also, I don't think I can do that with my rudder, what plane are you in?

Here is a video I uploaded.

You can see what I am talking about at the 1:50 minute mark - I stomp full right rudder and lower left wing intending to sideslip onto the runway, but instead my plane pivots a full 360 about the vertical axis in straight and level flight (with no thrust since my engine is out)!

EDIT: I think eventually the yaw would develop into a bank?

Also - flying WOFF for years, I've finally honed my skills for avoiding fences biggrin Glad to see that ability translates well over into WoTR!

Interesting! I'm going to let the experts handle this one. That was certainly some mean looking weather!

Very nasty weather Rick! Makes dogfights a lot of fun chasing each other through the clouds though (if you can even spot the enemy in the first place). I love the moody atmosphere this sim produces.

I was flying the other day, still trying to get used to the FM and thought I would try a Quick Combat flight Turkey Shoot against three ME109s. I had two hurricanes with me. I noticed immediately that my wing men will not wait to be told to engage. Then I noticed the ME109s will not act predictably, those bugger took broke in three different directions, the one on the right broke straight across my path. I really wasn't ready for that, I mean were they fast, no hesitation at all.

Flying against them is very reminiscent of films (movies and otherwise) you see from WWII. This will keep my attention for quite a while.

There's a good argument to be had with 'feeling of flight' and actual performance data. Though we might think it's accurate to simulate surface control lag and other motion effects as being 'realistic', the actual historical model might not suggest that at all.
There are reports of fighters being very twitchy on the ground, almost uncontrollable. But then this is only a game, and you might be able to set it more to what you'd like. I haven't toyed around much with the settings.
