Gents:

Would like to get Flaming Cliffs. However, I have a few concerns (undoubtedly answered elsewhere already).

1) I'm a little skittish about sending my credit number to a foreign web address.

2) How to avoid the Starforce copy protection Krapp?

I think this was answered already... but a refresher is much appreciated. I would prefer to get direct download if at all possible.

You don't have to download the game from the LockOn.ru site. You could buy a cd version from natural point http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/
(which is not a foreign site) Although it still contains starforce, it does not have the activation key anymore. All you have to do is keep the cd in the tray during play.

i think having the cd version is a lot better, more "secure." If your HD screws up and you have to format, there goes the addon files if you didnt back it out. Plus the downloaded version you have to activate it through keys on the main site that i find a little annoying. So having a cd is a lot better IMO.

It's easy enough to burn the FC download to a CD.

Personally I prefer to activate once or twice than have to put the CD in the drive every time I run the game.

I've had no problem - I ordered my CD from Naturalpoint.

Sure, I keep the CD in - but it's the only game I do this with, so it just stays in the tray

well...eventually they will come out with a no-cd crack just like the patch 1.02 (hopefully)

I doubt that :rolleyes: with this new starforce thing there will never be a no-cd crack. I've recently purchased the cd version online from http://www.simw.com and its a pain that everytime there is a mission load or there is a change in my configuration my cd starts turning cycles. Besides that my online shopping was very smooth except for being expensive (55 Euros). But I think its worth it

i just hope ED doesnt use starforce on their next release 1.2. Starforce did some pretty weird things to my computer, especially screwing up my cd-rw tray.

I was put off by the whole download thing, myself. But the instant gratification bug took over and I did it. Never been sorry. Four more activations left, I'll certainly need at least one more when the new rig arrives. Maybe a few more after that, but I'm not worried; I believe most companies will work with you if you're honest with them. And FC is SOOOO much better stability-wise than the original.

Have a question...how the hell do you actually download it? That site doesnt really give you the option too. Only thing you can do is register over and over but there isnt actually an option to buy the game...

Is it still possible? If so where the hell is the link?

Funny, I purchased the game from the site without a problem. So I guess you are wrong when you say it doesn't give you the option to buy it. go to downloads, files, voila.
