Everyone should get this. It is Free. Takes like 10s to log it to your steam account. It is the BEST coop shooter out there IMO (other than Arma).

Thanks for the heads up. Even if I don't ever get to it, free is free! Surely this isn't why steam is running so slow though? It's like there's a steam sale going on.

New game Insurgency Sandstorm, releases Sept. 18. Want people to get a taste of the series, I imagine.

After posting here, I spent a good few hours playing thanks to the massive influx of new players.

Be warned - PvP or co-op the team killing at the moment is getting to the point of monitor punching frustration. Might wait a week or so for the scrubs and trolls to get bored and go back to CoD, before picking it up again.

Stuff like this is why I haven't played on an open public server for ANY game for at least 8 years now.

@ PanzerMeyer - that I hear. I no longer play any where near as much competitive PvP as I used too. The amount of deaf and blind team mates is just getting beyond incredible.

Which is hard to undertand as the millenials have been bought up with these games and this technology, so how can so many of them be so bad at it?

I've never played Insurgency PvP so I cant speak for that. The team killing in coop, for me, has always seemed legit accidental. There have only been a handful of times where it was deliberate team killing and most servers have a 3 times and you are out policy that is auto enforced.

@Master While I don't doubt some of the TK's are indeed accidental (even I have the odd TK now and again), it is just the sheer amount currently occuring. Also this is actually the first time I have played the co-op. as I usually play PvP - in fact the only co-op game i really played with any regularity was L4D2. That was my go tp chillax game back when MP figured more heavily in my game roster. Nowadays I play far more SP.

@wangotango - That is probably for the best. While it is nice to see such a large player base, hardocre shooters tend to work better with a more dedicated crowd. Luckily the wheat is being seperated from the chaff.
