Please explain why would one even ask for some Ultralight Air activity instead of just tinkering with the Air War activity slider?
Thanks, An Ultra Light Air Activity setting would allow you to keep flying even in the late 1918 Air War without needing to lower your graphic settings to stay at a smooth 60 FPS. I'd rather have better looking planes, scenery and ground that I do see than lower the graphics quality to try and make up for a bunch of planes that I won't see. Pretty straightforward. Given that it would be an OPTION - you wouldn't be required to use it if you prefer things the way that they are. Are we already way farther ahead than we were before AnKors original Triangle Killer mod? Yes. Absolutely. Doesn't mean we can look for ways to continue to improve the sim. It's in the nature of some people to tinker.

Sorry, but I don't really get it. With all the recent rejoicing and accolades for the BT mod's highly increased performance why do the same people are asking now to look into possibility of undercutting the sensitive balance of WOFF UE's campaign activity beyond the GUI's settings that are already available to the players? Does WOFF UE's performance still suffer that much with the current hardware, BT mod and GUI settings? Sounds quite intimidating while I'm trying to set up my recently bought copy of WOFF UE.

Thanks, Dirk, I think the issue is that, because of the BT improvements, more of us are now attempting to fly in 1918. The smoothness that the BT mods bring to 1916 - mid 1917 is quite addictive, but we are finding that, in 1918, there are just too many planes in the sky for some systems, even at the lowest air activity. You should definitely experiment with and use one of the latest BT mods from RW, but I expect you will bump into this same balancing issue at some point in the campaign, depending on the specs of your system. For me, 125 planes is my upper limit for smooth gameplay. H

Ok, thank you, guys, so this is mainly about flying in 1918.
Perhaps, does it help FPS smoothness to fly in less active areas in 1918 then?
Thanks. Yes it may well help. I strongly recommend using Jara's Mission Editor. As you load missions into it, pre-flight, it shows how many planes will be active. You could experiment with different regions and see what's going on with air density. H

H Oh yes, Jara's Mission Editor is one of the most exciting tools and even features I'm looking forward to trying yet. So no more GPS, just dead reckoning and an acceptable game map to fly by visually (on a second monitor). This feature has been sorely missing in all iterations of WOFF. Thanks.

JJJ65;
you are over your private topic limit for PM's. I need to send you a PM regarding one of your mods. Let me know when you have fixed your limit problem.
Thanks

Hi folks;
There are Three NEW mods coming and one Update shortly. Sandbagger will indicate when they are up on his Mods page.
The three NEW mods are:
"WOFF UE - (300) BT & FPS Improvement by Panama Red" (This mod eliminates the dreaded Blue Triangles and improves FPS performance) "WOFF UE 1 - 1917+ Facilities - Reduced Trees Populated by Panama Red" (This mod reduces the impact of trees on FPS for those who are experiencing FPS issues with the airfield mods) "WOFF UE 1 - 1918+ Facilities - Reduced Trees Populated by Panama Red" (This mod reduces the impact of trees on FPS for those who are experiencing FPS issues with the airfield mods) Please refer to the accompanying ReadMe files for details about these mods, which are included in the downloaded ".zip" files.
The following is an updated mod which should be downloaded if you use the airfields mods:
This one is "WOFF UE 2 - Consolidated Periods and CampaignData Mod" (which contains corrections to the Lemmes airfield)
Watch for Sandbaggers announcement.
Best Regards
