Context: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44941618Seems there's some pantybunching from people who don't realise that wrestling is a pantomime :/

When you are a public school teacher, you really need to watch your social media activity. It's my understanding that most public school systems have social media activity included in their rules of behavior for their teacher contracts. Technically, this guy can be justifiably fired.

This part of the BBC article is an idiotic comparison:
"Wrestling has seen a number of controversial villains in the past, including The Iron Sheik, who claimed to have come from Iran, Abdullah the Butcher, who was also called the Madman from Sudan, and the first Sheik in the 1960s, who dressed as a Syrian, according to a list by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)."
None of these people were public school teachers but pro wrestlers employed by a private company.
Apples & oranges.

When did putting your left fist over your chest become a "Nazi Salute" ?
This just appears to be some folks looking for something to be outraged about, and really strretching in order to do so... If I remember correctly that is actually a Romulan salute.

For me the quote: "I want to assure you that the actions portrayed in this video do not represent the core values of the school district. As an educational organisation, we pride ourselves in providing a safe and nurturing learning environment." reads like this: ""I want to assure you that the fantasy portrayed in pantomime wrestling do not represent the core values of the school district. As an educational organisation, we pride ourselves in providing as different an experience to pantomime wrestling as possible" They're not doing a great job IMO.

So if a teacher is involved in reenactments, like the ACW and WW2, where he is the 'bad guy' they to can be investigated?
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

The big sticking point here is social media. If some teacher played as a German soldier at a WW2 re-enactment, it really wouldn't get much attention UNLESS photos of the re-enactment are posted on social media for many to see.
It's the simply the times we live in now.
