I am thinking about installing a 1TB M2 PCIe NVME SSD in my system to load DCS, Xplane11 and P3D on. Does anybody have one and if so, how much of a difference do you see from a standard HDD?


Main PC: ASUS P8Z77 - Intel I7 3770K OC to 4.4GHZ - Thermaltake Water2.0 Pro
GeForce GTX 970
16 Gig G.Skill Ares DDR3
Samsung EVO SSD 500GB
Plenty of storage
Windows 7 64bit

Loading an instant action or training mission in DCS

HHD: 4-5 minutes
SATA SSD: 20-30 seconds

SSD is good, NVMe is overkill. NVMe is $400, SATA is $300. Get the SATA interface one and save 25%.

I installed a Samsung EVO 1TB. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Psyched to try it out tonight.
