Poor guy, he wasn't doing himself any favours by spinning the prop so close to the hub though.

Any ideas why it wouldn't start? I've always heard that you have to burn off the prime before advancing the throttle on rotaries. Seemed to be running too lean to me, no smoke.

Looked too rich and sounded like they had some rigging issues in the mixture/throttle as well as the blip switch wasn't wired properly.

I agree on the hand starting... poor technique. Big guy, needed to go further out on the prop and use the leg swing... helps keep balance so you don't fall forward into the prop as he almost did a few times. Hand starting that many times in the hot sun, I'm sure he was getting tired.\

Tanks for posting the video. Kermit is the luckiest guy on the planet.. lol.

He posted a vid on Facebook the other day of that plane eating it's cowling in flight. He got it back down safely but the cowling had come off, was chewed up by the propeller and there where hunks of it in the wires. It didn't do the prop a heck of a lot of good either.

He once said in a vid, " When I grow up I want to be me." lol.
