So much ocean....seems to me that hominids are the likely aliens
What kind of car is that? What does it matter? When I drive it, I'm Steve McQueen

Interesting theory, but until we have definitive proof aliens actually exist, pure speculation. Unless you assume the long odds that we are the only intelligent life in the entire cosmos, then they do exist.

I'm at my desk right now. I know it.
I cannot definitively prove it however.

I can prove where I am. I have two idiot dogs staring at me, as witnesses.

I can prove where I am. I have two idiot dogs staring at me, as witnesses. Your reality is merely a sum of your senses. You think, therefore you are. However, because your reality is a sum of your senses, it does little to prove what your reality truly is. Simply because your dogs are staring at you doesn't mean they are--or dogs, for that matter. They are interpreted as dogs by your eyes and your brains but... ponder this: What if your eyes are being told to tell you that those are two dogs staring at you? If an AI is told that it has an arm, then it assumes it is an arm. Simply feeling pain or touch doesn't prove the arm is there, because the input source can be fed input from an external source/being--necessary signals, to convey the sense that it exists. So if that is the case, can you truly trust your senses?

So if that is the case, can you truly trust your senses? That is a wonderful solipsism. By that same measure, neither of us or our conversation is real.

While it's an interesting read, I was under the impression that the idea that life on Earth came from outer space is an old one. Some believe that we are ALL aliens. That we all came from those viruses and DNA being dropped on a still forming Earth.

"I thought it was already established by the brilliant film “Prometheus”" Ah yes, of course. That too. It's to bad they couldn't have made the aliens octopuses to tie the whole idea together! Now THAT would have been brilliant.

It is a huge leap to say that since there are amino acids on comets that life on Earth came from them.
This is like saying that since some meteors are made of iron and nickel, swords arrived from the heavens, sheathed and ready to be drawn and used in battle.
The further leap of saying that since there are some amino acids on comets that some of them also contained viable eggs is absolutely ludicrous, and just flies in the face of what we know about how comets are formed.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

Now THAT would have been brilliant. Actually they did, Shaw gave birth to an octopuss based on the code from the pathogen that was created by ancient astronauts. The circle of life and all that.
