Wow, those trees sure adds a lot to the terrain feel! Now if only they can stretch it out more towards the horizon.... smile

I have the trees set to 100% on my install and I don't notice where they stop at all. In fact, I can't even see where the trees end in my screenshots above. And with trees set to 100%, my laptop still runs the sim just fine.

Man, this new version sure does look nice! It will be nice if they follow through with some content changes as well. But for now, it's very pretty to fly around in!

Is that tree density at 100%? Is there maybe like a draw distance slider?

It may not be noticeable in your laptop or when playing when there are other things to do or catch your eye but I can see it on the screenshots.... but then again, I'm looking for that end-of-treeline smile

I am curious, did you guys update your already installed version of DCS or did you do a fresh install of 2.5? I am waiting a while to see how everything shakes out. Great pics by the way.

Edit: Which one do you update? The 1.5... or the 2.0... ?

Ok, I updated to 2.5... . It really looks good in game and my frame rates are decent for my old system, but the ram use is ridiculous. I am posting a pic from Process Lasso which I use while running most of my CFSs. DCS 2.5 is using every bit of my 16 GBs of ram jawdrop in a mission I made a longtime ago with like either 14 or 16 WWII fighters in a big scrap. There is a little bit of Stutter here and there, I am assuming because the Ram is bottle necked. My Cpu is running like 40% of max. I am assuming they have a bad Memory leak. The graphics look pretty good to me, but when I pause for a picture, it looks perfect in game, but the picture comes out with some very small jaggies if you look close. I think I am going to try Reshade like I had in 1.5 plus 2 or 4 times Sparse Grid Super Sampling and see what happens. Here are some pics from the Aerial Scrap Mission on the Caucasus Map. Enjoy, hopefully the next ones will be better. salute

Great shots. Mine doesn't look quite that good, but it's good. I like the aluminum finish effect, now. It always looked more greyish than metalic. My F-86 looks terrific. Getting some stutering, though, when the guns fire. Guess I need to turn something down.

Going to need to upload to SimHQ or find another image hosting site bisher. All I see is the image telling you to upgrade your photobucket account. frown

Well I finally have spent a little more time in DCS 2.5. It really looks stunning. I sure hope they work at optimizing it better because stutters are a problem.
It is a shame because I was going to build a new rig, but with all the CPU compromises and the GPU shortage and high prices, along with Ram high prices,
I really can't afford to build now. Well, I am thankful for my present rig and I will just have to wait it out. Here are a few pics from a recent excursion of P51s
and Spits vs Fw190s and Bf109s. Enjoy.

Blade_Meister @ have you ssd ?

I got some stutters first in my system: I5 8500 6core 4ghz / 16gb DDR4 3000mhz / 1070 8 Gb

Fisrt i have dcs in my System / games SSD drive = stutters

Now i have dcs in its own SSD = no more stutters , also setting preload to MIN or least 1/3 from max take those away.

There is still bad memory leak , ED is fixing it. Preload is bugged with it. And its gets crazy in MP biggrin

But sure dcs, runs great fps .

My 1060 with same system got 100-120fps in big missions , now i have 1070 and get 120-180fps in big missions biggrin

My settings: Ultra vis range, textures high , water high, cicilian traffic low, shadows low / flat terrain shadows / tree slider max / grass 1000 / AF4 / 2xmsaa in monitor use, no msaa in VR use PD 1.4 for now.

I5 8400 , 16gb , GTX 1070 oc , Win10 64bit . Virpil T-50 27" monitor with 2560x1440 rez ... DCS + Oculus CV1 + Samsung Odyssey . (odyssey is better for flight sims)

And here is nice video from MP play. (it works quite ok, mem leaks sometimes force server restart but even long sessions are ok)

Hellreing makes nice videos , not too short/long or full of #%&*$# music.

Haukka81, no SSD here, old school HDD. thanks for your suggestions but I have an old AMD system with a GTX770 4GB. I think when ED optimizes and fixes the memory leak , then DCS will work better for me.
Here are a few more I took the other night.

Great pictures, Blade. Mine doesn't really look all that differently from that at high altitude. That's where I am most of the time, anyway. I knocked it back to Medium. Then I put the Cockpit at 1024. Gotta have the cockpit looking good. Looks fine and runs a whole lot better, now. But I have a 4 year old I7 processor with 2.4 GH and 8 GB of RAMM. 2GB Nvidia card. So, even after they fix that memory leak I'm most likely not gonna be able to max this out.
