Interesting to me because of it's historical significance, and the difference of attitudes between then and now. Apparently we used to be a little less worried about being "PC".

Well, note that the attitude changed very quickly. That 1945 video is in no way representative of how the US Army operated in 1947, and post 1949 was a different matter again. The '45 video represents the Army's mindset from "just after the fighting is done". So, while even the term "political correctness" would have earned you a blank stare at the time, the actual behavior of troops very quickly relaxed, just as the relatively lenient treatment of Germany by the western allied powers (which most Germans felt was undeserved, and I guess many of the European and US war generation shared that feeling) came as a pleasant surprise to the Germans, and was ultimately met with gratitude. This was in part a policy change of the US where (West) Germany was seen as a necessary element in the defense of Europe against Communism, in part the troops simply didn't heed the order to abstain from fraternization, and over time what couldn't be stopped became official policy.

20 years later, sweet smart peaceful gentle von Braun (V2 creator, producing them with slave labour from concentration camps prisoners) was still america's best investment, and nowadays hugo boss (nazi uniforms supplier) is still selling well in the US, so I call this video fake news
Trolling apart, thanks for sharing, hadn't seen this one before.

I'd say the video worked. We've not had another german initiated war since. And I'm pleased since I really love Germany.

Some might argue that modern Germany has gone way over to the opposite extreme.

Yes, things have changed. I remember listening to a restored version of an old radio show. It was recorded just after the war. The host was interviewing Joe DeMaggio who had just returned from visiting our occupation troops in Japan. They were making jokes about Hiroshima.
