This is the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope. Sucks, but an incredible piece of technology.
I don't get it. What sucks about this?

I don't get it. What sucks about this? It sucks that the JWST is going to blow past the $8 BILLION cost cap that congress set for it and that it will have taken TWO DECADES to get it into operation. It was supposed to have cost less that $2 billion and launch about 10 years sooner.

Ahh... NASA Bloat at it again. Unfortunately. It's a real shame too because I believe in the NASA core mission but fricking government bureaucracy always has to mess things up.

Ahh... NASA Bloat at it again. Unfortunately. It's a real shame too because I believe in the NASA core mission but fricking government bureaucracy always has to mess things up. Prime examples: SLS and Orion. Between those two, about $20 billion before they ever put an actual payload in space. And again they've been in the works for decades. And SLS is bound to be the the biggest, costliest, most embarrassing boondoggle in NASA's long history of big, costly boondoggles. By the time SLS actually flies operationally I am betting SpaceX will be at least test flying the fully reusable, much more capable and ridiculously cheaper to operate BFR.

Oh, darn. I thought you meant my old work buddy, Jimmy "Spider" Webb.
What kind of car is that? What does it matter? When I drive it, I'm Steve McQueen
