Below from https://superuser.com/questions/752554/why-doesnt-prioritizing-processes-produce-a-speed-improvementPriority does not help when the bottleneck is the CPU itself. What priority actually does is affect the scheduling algorithm the Operating System uses to determine which process runs next since there are not enough processors in most systems to run every process continuously. A higher-priority task will make its way to the top of the queue quicker, so this helps with general latency, but if your process is exhausting the entire timeslice it is allocated on actual computation then scheduling is not going to change anything there. Changing the priority is more useful when you have a process that is waiting on I/O and you want it to be more responsive. Interesting comments, I suppose advantage to DCS depend on where the bottlenecks are!

Why does the user have to do this in this day and age? Agreed, and where does it say in the minimum specs the end user needs to alternate\assign cores in order to run this circus? The Sunway TaihuLight would even struggle to run it

Again , its not required for majority of people. I dont need it and no need for any of our flight group.
I5 8400 , 16gb , GTX 1070 oc , Win10 64bit . Virpil T-50 27" monitor with 2560x1440 rez ... DCS + Oculus CV1 + Samsung Odyssey . (odyssey is better for flight sims)

Thank you BrettT for your suggestion, I'll give it a try!
Why do this?
Some people like, the challenge, and investigate their system in an attempt to maximize performance, or to gain a greater understanding of the system they use .......is this absolutely necessary...NO!
Does that mean its worthless to pursue the endeavor? That depends on your perspective!
Some people may see some value in doing this, and get satisfaction out of helping others, others....dont!
Enjoy! rant out?

Where does it say in the minimum specs that end user need to switch computer on Fair enough. Nothing in the minimum specs about having an end user to begin with. Some people like, the challenge, and investigate their system in an attempt to maximize performance, or to gain a greater understanding of the system they use .......is this absolutely necessary...NO! If I wanted to do this, I'd have joined a benchmarking group. What does this have to do with flight sims as a hobby?

Where does it say in the minimum specs that end user need to switch computer on Right at the end of both the minimum\recommended specs. The sim requires internet activation, Therefor the computer would need to be 'switched on' in order to complete the task and meet the 'minimum or recommended specs' You can see this for yourself

No, you only need internet connection to activate the module. Once it's been activated, you no longer need an internet connection, therefore, the computer wouldn't even need to be switched on. Then again, if you have internet connection, you have it whether the computer is turned on or not. If you do not have internet connection (ie, ISP issues), then you don't have it whether the computer is turned on or not. Do you have running water in your house only when a tap is open? C'mon man!! Let's apply some DCS logic here please!

Well, you have internet connection whether you turn on your computer or not, so it should automatically activate when it needs to regardless of whether your computer is on or not. As you can clearly see, minimum requirements only stated you needed an internet activation, nothing about switching the computer on as eagle-eyed Mokkeri has stated.
I'm sure we'll have a beta of whatever the new activation timeframe would be.
